Kosher Meals On Emirates?
I was wondering if it was going to be possible to order Kosher meals on an Emirates flight from Male to Dubai? I know that it was impossible in the past but times are changing.....
Additionally, do you think it will be possible to check my luggage all the way to TLV if I am connecting with TK via IST from DXB? |
IIRC ... they still dont list "Kosher" on the meal request form on skywards & emirates.
Teh closest to a kosher meal would be an 'Islamic/muslim meal' http://www.emirates.com/english/plan...uirements.aspx |
had this problem myself in May AKL-SYD no KSML was able to order a fruit plate which I did it looked OK but in the end I passed on it
|
Thanks, but Halal won't do the job. Kosher only!

Definitely a B.Y.O.K. flight.
"Bring your own kishka". :) |

EK is offering Kosher meal for years and they follow the sandart routine. FA will present the sealed box (with all the certificares and stamps) to the pax and will ask to open it and hand back the hot meal casserolle. Then FA heat the casserolle and serve it after 15-20 minutes to the pax.
On MEL-AKL flight I've seen a big group of jewish orthodox people dressed in the most conservative way, reading small religius books during the whole flight and all of them enjoyed the KSML served by EL |

EK's answer: Strange that they won't offer to the flights to GCC countries in Y but in premium classes!

Why isn't it listed as an option then?
But there are lots of things not listed. Once I had fellow passenger who had "no mushrooms - no tomatoes" meal, because he was allergic, and he has been served the requested meal. It's not listed as well |
kosher food is available
generally on the jfk dub and the return. dubai to india is a 50-50 deal and the return from India has a lesser chance.
That said, the kosher food generally is so sub standard that you would be better serve bringing your own. apparently, it is from a caterer that vacuum packs the food in tins (like k rations) so that it doesnt need refrigeration or freezing. I have complained repeatedly about this situation but I guess they are happy just being able to say there is kosher food available -- irrespective of the bargain cat food like quality. |
any experiences lately with kosher meals on emirates flights?
I will be flying business, what can I expect from Dubai? Hermolis? |
