I checked with a mate who is a purser on the A380. Yes, there are shower caps.

thanks for that, not sure if anyone found it a problem with the spas being engaged a lot of the time. I know I tend to visit the loo a lot, due to drinking one glass of champers... one water... one glass of champers.... one of of water....one glass of champers.. one of water ( i; think you get my drift!!!).:D

The spas were busy on the last part of my JFK-DXB and DXB-JFK flights but otherwise there was no problem getting into them during the majority of the flight.

If engaged, it was not a problem getting the flight attendants in the galley to unlock the toilet behind row 4.

It seems they do keep this just for first class.

thanks for that, at least i know I do not require a catheter bag, or a nappy for the flight!!!. cheers paula.:)

You can preview the cabin in the following TR BY Airxliban From Lebanon, which details the spa & showers quite well .. (scroll down if only interested in the same)

After just having another brilliant set of F trips on EK (with showers both ways) I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience :)

Be sure to let them know of your preference as early as you can ... on my out-going trip it was a light load and I was able to have 2 showers ^ so it's all relative to the load & the FAs discretion in the end ;)

Cheers,

WOW thanks for the trip report, and fab photos, I feel like a seasoned f passenger all ready!!. At least when I get on board in November I will have a much better idea how to operate all the different things in the suit!!.

I don't think I will be able to sleep, as there seems to be far to much food to eat and wine to sample, not to mention all the films.

cheers paula:D^

There's certainly a lot to eat on board so you'd better prepare yourself lol :D ... It's good you're transiting through DXB as you can experience the new T3 and F lounge etc which are a good distraction esp if you're seeing it for the 1st time .... and the walking will help work off the food from LHR - DXB ;)

Also I would recommend not to choose 1A or 1K for your suite as they are a tad smaller in size , are too close to dividing curtains and are missing a window .... try to go with row 2 A/K or 3 A/K instead :)

No Worries but just to clarify, the TR I posted above is not mine but that of Airxliban From Lebanon, :)

You will find my A380 TR in my sig at the bottom of my post so if you were indeed referring to that , thanks !
....Just like to make sure credit is given to right author ;)

But you will see that it says on the shower door "maximum occupancy 2" - someone had something in mind!

Sadly , This sign is for disabled people who might need their helper in the spa & not for us adventurous types :D

Cheers ^

Go for the 2A/K again as there's usually quite a lot of activity around the cockpit with the gate/security crew whilst boarding &... I've also read in previous FT threads that row 1 seats dont recline as much row 2 ...

Cheers :)

paula100 May 20, 2009 2:33 am

Hi are you talking about the SUITES in 1A not fully reclining, as I have a suite not a seat for the jbh leg.

cheers Paula

The suites have seats in them ..... but I'm not sure if the recline issue is a real problem or not as I've always taken 2 A/K .

Thanks have changed to 2 K just in case

MarkLHR May 25, 2009 4:24 pm

In a suite the recline is exactly the same. I've been in row 1 on A380, 777 and 340 and absolutely no difference.

Cheers thanks for that ^ but 1 A/K suites still are a window short on the A380 ... Cant remember if this is the case on the 777 & 340 ... any ideas on this ?

Frankly I didnt enjoy the 1A on the AKL-SYD leg at all might have been the extra media but even so I found the suite smaller & the area around would most likely be the busiest with the showers & self serve bar :)
