Skywards / Radisson madness
I have booked into the Radisson Edwardian at Heathrow tonight and was told that because the hotel booking was made on lastminute.co.uk, I was not eligible for the 500 Skywards points for my stay.
Has anyone experienced this, and is it right for them to deny me these points? |
I experienced the same booking Le Meridien on a third party site. I sent in the reciept however they wouldn't credit the miles and wrote me back that hotel bookings through third party sites no longer counted for miles accural.

I didn't even try to get points when I stayed there last (compliments of Air Canada due to an irregular op) because I knew that Skywards would probably fuss. However, with a third party booking - I would still expect EK to give the miles.

For room bookings via agent websites, you may find that when you check in they refuse miles, but if you retrospectively claim them, they will subsequently give you miles.
In theory, it's the same as buying a deeply discounted air ticket, regardless of what you have actually paid and how they compare to the best available rate at the hotel itself. I've not experienced this problem at the Radisson Edwardian, but I have at the Sofitel in New York. It also depends on the check-in agent you have and what they are able to do. I always try and book on the hotel site, but sometimes the rates to be had elsewhere are just too good to refuse, so you take a risk when you don't buy from the hotel. |
This was no go for me.
Skywards even sent me a printed letter on this matter. |
