Seems to be the standard Emirates way, deny the STPC until pushed. Try e-mailing or phoning NBO or DXB offices, and they should be able to sort it out. AFAIK, the rules haven't changed.

I just found this via Google:

Looks like it's changed to be based on booking class, not fare actually paid in USD.

The rules seem to be quite new. I hope that this only applies ex JNB.

Hmm, it looks like the STPC may now be done on a city by city basis.

It's better in some ways, only 8 hours economy rather than 10, and 6 hours in business rather than 8.

yea, if you fly F/J then this is an improvement since all fare classes qualify in First and Business (including reward.) However, the economy fare buckets do not include any of the cheaper ones, ex-JNB anyway.
