For JFK-DXB, which Economy seat is better? the A 380 or the 773ER? I can choose to fly either at this time. Seatguru.com says the 777 has 2 extra inches of legroom. I am wondering?

Anyone know if seat 25K on the A380 is "really" affected by its proximity to the bar?
Also, is there an aisle seat (i.e. 26J) just behind it, or is 25K the very last seat in the upper deck? Cheers in advance! |

Is it true that the inside seats in J on the 380 have 9 fewer inches on pitch than the outside seats? And, if so, do the window seats have less pitch than the regular aisle seats? It is difficult to tell from photos.

Go for a window seat if you have a choice. Because of the staggered layout, you won't even see the person in the aisle seat. Cheers, Rick |
Hi All,
I will be flying in 773 and see that there is discrepancy between the seat assignment map on Emirates and SeatGuru. I'm a little concerned as there seem to be rows missing windows - for now I have chosen 19HJK - is this OK (or would 18 be better as it is still available)? Otherwise, 53ABC on the A380 to Sydney then coming back 18ABC and 19HJK both on 77W on the way back = anyhting to avoid there? Thanks. |
A380 Business between JFK DXB - seating q's?
Hello one and all...
Two of us will be flying on the A380 from JFK to DXB this Wednesday in business class. I've already learned from this site that the aisles have less pitch than the windows/interior. I do have a few questions which I hope some of you can answer 1. The EK site mentions a "dual USB" port. What can one do with this? 2. What type of power outlet is in the seats? alrline type, car lighter type, US style plug? other? 3. Is there internet connectivity available on the aircraft? Any other comments will be most welcome!! |

Does anybody know what are these 'Low Comfort Seats' in row 16 on the A345?
They show up on the seat map. |
777-300 J-class Seating
Hi,
I'm flying in and out of Male in J on EK658 and EK656 on 17 and 23 March. Since I booked the flights in May 2008 (it's been a long wait for this one!)there have been numerous flight number, aircraft type, time and seating changes to the reservation. Both flights are now shown on "Manage my Booking" as two class 777-300 with lie-flat seats and ICE, but Emirates "Services by Flight" checker shows both flights as 3 class 777-300 with sleeperete seats and ICE. Both are night flights so lie-flat would be nice, although not essential on 4 hour flights. Any idea what I can expect or is it a lottery depending on which plane is used on the day? Cheers, Steve. |
does row 7 A/B have any seat restrictions or limited seat recline on the 777-300 that flies from DXB-CMB-MLE? Is it best to sit in the forward business class section or the other larger section? thanks.
|
Low comfort seats 345
I can tell you all about these seats.
Row 15 is the bulkhead - 3 seats across in the middle. Row 16 behind is low comfort : why we ask? Due to their not being 4 seats for ICE to hang on, one seat has 16G (i think) has a fold out screen. The rest of the seats all have rigid armrests, so you cannot flip them up and be more comfortale. Hench the title "Low Comfort". I actually sat in 16D for a 3 hr flight CHC -SYD - with a spare 3 beside me, and it was ok. I used the tray table next to me and felt comfortable. Hope this helps Adam |
Seat 17
So seat in row 17 on 777-300ER and 777-300 is not a bulkhead seat?
How is possible reserve row 16? Only at chcekin? On flight DXB-VIE on 777-300ER are still free seat 17F,G 23E,F 38E,F 46J,K 47A,B - can you recommend the best selection? We are travelling in couple. On flight BKK-DXB on 777-300 is free 17FG and 38EF. Thank you! |
Hello. Can someone tell me what the best seats are for me
I am flying in July LGW-DXB-BNE in a Boeing 777-300ER in Y-class and in August I am flying back (BNE-DXB-LGW) in a Airbus A340-500 and a Boeing 777-300ER also in Y-class. Now, I have selected the following seats, but I can change it.... (The exit row seats are already selected by other people) LGW-DXB (Boeing 777-300ER): 19A DXB- BNE (Boeing 777-300ER): 39K BNE - DXB (Airbus A340-500 ):35A DXB-LGW(Boeing 777-300ER): 18K (All those seats are next to a window because I like to watch out of the window, unless there is a big box in front of me of course...) I hope someone can help me (Sorry if my English is bad) |
Just looking at services by flight for EK2 20 th Jan 2010 and all i get is this:- Sorry, we were unable to find any information about services on this flight. Please click on Flying with Emirates for general flight service information.
Hope they are not thinking about cutting the A380 from LHR |
Ek004/770/771
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I will be travelling on EK004 LHR - DXB, EK770 DXB - CPT and EK771 CPT - DXB. Do you have any idea of the business class product on each flight? All are said to be on 777-300ER. Thanks. |
Bulkhead rows on 770-300ER and A380?
Hi,
I'm confused . I know this question has been asked earlier in this thread but I can't seem to find a definite answer to this, sorry to be repetetive... We're booked on the following: ("manage my booking" shows all these to be bulkhead rows) MAN-DXB 777-300ER (2 class) 7H & 7K DXB-JNB 777-300ER (3 class) 17H & 17K CPT-DXB 777-300ER (3 class) 17H & 17K DXB-LHR A380 43 H & 43K The middle seat in these rows is designated a bassinet seat and cannot be booked online, that's why we're not in J&K. (hope to swap seats with anyone seated in the middle... my husband is 6'4" - bulkhead much appreciated...) However, when I look at the seat map from "our fleet" it seems the bulkheads are row 8 (not 7) and row 16 (not 17) (no map for the A380, but seatguru shows 43 as bulkhead). Isn't it odd that 8J and 17J would be designated bassinet seats if no in a bulkhead row? Can anyone help? Thanks from a first-time Emirates flyer! :) |
Hi
I am not able to coment on the a380 but if your 777 sectors are on 3 class aircraft then row 7 is not bulkhead. There are 2 bus cabins, row 6-7 in the front small cabin row 8 onwards the rear bus cabin. The 2 cabins are seperated by a galley. I prefer row 7 as it is quiter, you get served earler, there IS a full recline to the bualkhead behind you the only drawback if you have a window seat is you only get one window and not 3. Hope this helps. p.s. the seat map on manage my booking is the correct one...:p |
777-300er - y
Thanks for the response!
Sorry - forgot to mention we're booked in Y. (rows 6-7 make sense in J - I wish! ;)), Seems the flight MAN-DXB is a 2-class flight. From your response re "manage my booking" being correct I suppose I should trust that rather than the generic seatmap from the "our fleet" menu... assuming seat configurations vary in aircraft of the same type. Thanks again! :)

Seat Width - best aircraft ex London in Y
If I reallly have to do some segments in Y ex london (LHR or LGW) of all the AC that Emirates fly what is the best seat width... I have a very picky partner.
We will be transiting to J flights for the longer OZ sectors so we are talking London DXB in both directions only Help very greatfully received.. |
I have just had a few minutes spare in the office and was checking the different aircraft I will be flying on with Emirates only over the next 4 weeks and have found it quite astonishing in the difference in seat pitches etc. I suppose I had never really thought about it in terms of inches before, over and above cost etc.
I have to say, I have agreed on every post thus far about the J class product being a bit of a lottery, but think about the next series of flights I have, in both First and Business: DXB-KHI J CLASS A330-200 60” pitch 18” length DXB-BKK F CLASS A380 86’ pitch 23” length BKK-HKG F CLASS 777-200 69’ pitch 20’ length HKG-DXB F CLASS 330-200 72’ pitch 20’ length DXB-BOM J CLASS A340-500 60” pitch 18” length BOM-DXB J CLASS 777-300 46’ pitch 18’length DXB-SFO J CLASS 777-200LR 78” pitch 20.5 length SFO-LAX J CLASS 777-200 LR 78’ pitch 20.5 length All figures are from Emirates Flight by Service, and from Seat Guru.. It certainly is a lottery – I will only have the same sized seat twice out of 8 flights! Anyway, I must get back to work!!!!!!! Amazing! |
I just completed 2 long haul on the A380 in F . normally I like the last seats on the A345 3AK
well I chose seat 4A. I know Im being picky!! firstly too far from the front bar:D its long walk to get dom. second they have a tray stash right next to you and it clangs when they store the trays. so stay away from 4A if you have a choice 3A or K would be a better choice. the aircraft is superb! |

According to Seatguru - http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Emi...nformation.php -
seat width on all 777's is 17" in Y. |
I am going to be travelling in business on 777-200LR.
I was hoping to get a window seat as these seem to have more privacy but the only ones left are 8 (bulkhead) and 11 (in front of economy). Have either of these got problems? I am currently in 10F - does anyone know what this seat is like? Thanks |
MAN-DXB-SEZ
This is my first time here, please help. We are travelling (2 of us) MAN-SEZ via DXB in economy, on flights EK20/EK707/EK706/EK19.
I always used seatguru to choose the seats, but this time the seating plan on the emirates website (choose the seat) and seatguru website is not exactly the same for one of the flights! Emirates website gives the following: EK20 - Boeing 777-300ER, 2-class, economy starts row 7! (How are seats 23E & 23F?) EK707 & EK706 - Airbus A330-200 (same as on seatguru, chose seats 35J & 35K for both flights?) EK19 - Boeing 777-300ER, 2 class, economy starts row 8. (Which seats to choose? Wouldn't mind window, as it is a day flight - although, how much can you see?! The 2 seat rows at the back are all taken. Currently have 12J & 12K assigned) Can someone please help with seat selection? It is our first flight with Emirates, so have no idea what to expect! |
Seat help
hey... can anybody confirm if the seats A and K in the economy class of emirates 201 from dubai to jfk contain entertainment boxes??
thanks |
Row 6
Hello travellers,
We are travelling soon from Glasgow to Manila on 777-300 ER 2 class. We are seated on seats 6A & 6B and wonder if any fellow travellers have been seated there? Some people avoid these seats due to their close proximity to the galley, lockers and curtain. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Regards, Dunli |

I think ob both sectors you will have the old style of seats! |

A380
Hi,
I am travelling on the A380 (first time) to BKK on the 9th September in Y, I have managed to get 68A which looks like a good seat. Also available on the seat plan are bulkhead seats 43H and 52C, I normally always go for the bulkhead seats for a quick exit when arriving in BKK. This time there is no hurry as I have to overnight in BKK before continuing my journey next morning. Should I stay put or change for the bulkhead, no problem with screaming kids for myself, in fact I was a kid once myself. :):) Best Regards Flying Fireman |

.. managed to get 68A which looks like a good seat. .. there is no seat in front of you.. so you can enter and leave your seat without climbing over any one. Just make sure you put your carry on bag if possible.. so the passengers in front of you don't start putting their stuff there.. |
[QUOTE=Flying Fireman;12069369]Hi,
I am travelling on the A380 (first time) to BKK on the 9th September in Y, I have managed to get 68A which looks like a good seat. I had a minor panic attack when I read that the flying fireman was in 68A on the A380 on 9 September. I looked up my reservation and sure enough I have seat 68A on the A380 on 9 September. How could that be? Only when I realised that I am on the BHX-DXB sector did my sphincter settle down. We'll have to compare notes after the event as my wife and I are taking the A380 from DXB to BKK at the end of September but we are booked in F as it's a special occasion. Happy landings. |
A380 in F - which are the quiet seats ?
Hi - I normally fly on a 777-300ER . In first, on the A380 where is NOT noisy, where is good ? I am bit confused with the 380 / 340. I keep reading about bars and came across someone writing about Beyonce at the bar ... but I would like peace/quiet. In 777-300ER I sit in 2A/2K.
Thank you . |
