Since, you think you are so smart, why don't you Google Emirates Gold Benefits: Gold Extra Allowance= 1 Additional Piece of checked Baggage of 23 K.G./50 lbs.
Your bag was overweight (according to your post). So, you could have split it into another bag and probably been OK. But assuming you only had a single bag with you, then Emirates were correct to not allow you to check the overweight peice. |
But the issue was I was told that Gold Status does not allow you to have an extra Bag (23k.g.) that I could Transfer the extra luggage into. when I pointed the Policy out to them, they came up with that it is only Good on a Revenue Ticket. huh?

You told us that your bag was 3.5lbs over weight. And as both ft101 and myself pointed out, when a bag is overweight on the piece system, it will not be accepted, no matter what your status is. This has noting to do with allowance of extra pieces resulting from status. |
