[QUOTE=tartan 201;34921035]A few UK changes: A380 to BHX and GLA and second daily 777 restored to STN.

Will GLA feature the new premium economy on the A380?

Not in the near future.....at moment only SYD and LHR (EK 1/2 and EK 3/4) have the new PE.

Next destinations are AKL and JFK.....but such plans may change very.

PVG resumes in Feb, EK website is showing EK303 resumption

PVG resumes initially four times weekly. The return will operate as PVG-BKK-DXB for the month of February before becoming a non-stop PVG-DXB in March.

CAN's timings revert to pre-covid timings (1045am departure from DXB) and will increase to seven times weekly, with the return becoming a non-stop CAN-DXB service in February.

I'm hearing that there might be some additional Australia flights loaded in the next week or two... :)

Thanks, interesting that PVG is on the 777. Would have thought it would be the 380 off the bat

Just to mention, I read today that BNE is also going double daily from June - https://statements.qld.gov.au/statem...ENQRwfqkQn8vCY

EK430 from 1st June: DXB(02:30) -> BNE (22:20)
EK431 from 2nd June: BNE (02:50) -> DXB (11:00)

Using a 777-300 with 354 passengers, the seatmap shows this config: https://www.aerolopa.com/ek-73m

Anyone know or think it likely that EK might resume 418/419 777 fifth freedom SYD - BKK - DXB?

SO much demand on that route now, would very much welcome being able to use EK for SYD BKK again.

Honestly a joke now that BNE has the same frequency as SYD (even if SYD is A380 v 773).

I'm sure there are very good reasons for that decision. Emirates are privy to a lot more information than that which you or I glean from occasional and casual observation. Sydney has had 2 A380 flights for some time, including very new frames and is one of two consistent PE destinations. So let's not be too indulgent. Be patient instead!

So I don't see it as a joke. Emirates must be noticing an increase in demand at BNE and have no doubt responded appropriately.

or cargo, 777s have a lot more cargo space than a 380.

Agree, probably strong cargo combined with that gvt grant.

Nope, I’m sure it goes back to the QF JV wanting to provide as few seats as possible to ensure every seat is sold in the highest fare buckets. This is why it’s a joke.

So you mean they will rather fly empty planes to Brisbane and lose in revenue in order to sell high fare tickets from Sydney? I find that a joke to be honest

Emirates usually goes double daily to balance their two main transit times. The priority is usually for flights arriving from west of dxb at midnight (00:00-02:00) in order to catch the very early morning flights heading east (02:00-04:00) and the flights arriving from the east between (05:00-07:00) in order to catch the flights heading west (07:00-09:00). The second transit period is when flights arrive from the east around noon time to fly west on the afternoon flights and the east bounds happen around (0600-10:00). Other than those two peak transit times, terminal 3 is not very busy.

Demand to and from Australia is very high. Most airlines are flying full, especially in J and F. Sone people are even flying SYD-MEL/BNE/PER just so we can get out of the country on our preferred airline and class.

I think the question is more why SYD hasn’t been given an extra rotation or two.

At peak travel periods it’s impossible to book flights. A friend had a wedding in Nov and all of the family based in Dubai had difficulty finding seats in any class and were calling every day. This was before School holidays.

I believe it was similar for most airlines.
