Saw this as well. Supposedly EK is in talks with Boeing to switch the order from the 787 to more 777X.

From the Chicago Tribune: talks of at least 20 more 777X to replace the 787 order

I think it makes sense, between the 339 and the 359 they'll have enough lower capacity aircraft (relatively speaking, especially with the 359 which will be in a similar league to their 77Ls and likely in a 2-class config)

Yeah. All these changes will help EK right-size seat availability on their routes.

Looking into a crystal ball, as the A380s get retired, J/F reward availability is going to plummet IMHO.

The expansion of the A380s out of the US made finding reward J seats much easier than on 777 routes.

Has any dates been suggested by emirates or airbus about when either of these orders are to commence delivery to emirates?

It seems like most A350 is configured with business, premium economy and economy seats only.
I wonder if EK will put F class there

Unfortunately not, they won't be on F class suite. Only business, premium economy and economy class, as well.

Interesting that the A330-900 neos look like 2-4-2 in economy. Savers and Specials in the middle?

What makes you say that as opposed to 3-3-3?

I'll guarantee right now there is no way EK will have 3-3-3 on the 330neo's. It's significantly worse than 3-4-3 on the 777. The only airlines that I've seen go for it on the 330 are Asian LCC's such as Air Asia X. (Avoid it at all costs!)

Math error, didn't count and thought it's the same number of seats across. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised. They'll make it narrow aisle like the 77W and use it to justify 2-2-2 in J (hopefully)
