QF accept virtual cards and even just the home screen on an EK app for lounge entry sometimes!

I called Emirates last year when my wife hadn't received her companion gold card. I was told quite specifically that Emirates now only mails Platinum cards. Those in other tier levels either use a virtual card, print it from the website or pick up their card from the EK office in DXB.

Which month was it ? My companion-card holder got it on May.

It was due from 1 April, but I didn't make the call until June or July. Maybe the policy was changed after May?

how would I get my physical card? would they send you notice about it. because after joining, they didn't mention about sending physical card only about the virtual card. is there any possibility I could request for my card?

Apparently the new Skywards booth in T3 will print luggage tags for you - unsure if they also do a physical card.

I asked ...the T3 skywards booth does NOT print cards "no more cards, only virtual cards, even for platinums too"

Yes, Didn’t get a physical card at plat renewal anymore either recently. Don’t have an issue with that per se, since I never had to show it physically. Only benefit to me was getting free e-gate. But funnily enough they still sent physical baggage tags, not virtual ones ;) I am sure their dream is probably to eventually charge a real fare for a virtual seat, that would perfect the airline business model :p

Same here (also at the Skywards desk in the lounge). No problem at all. Give them your number and they print two and give them to you in a cardboard envelope with two of these screwy tie on loops.
