Amex to Skywards rewards problem

I am struggling with a transfer from Amex to Emirates of 24k points.

Both accounts are linked and I have the 'tick' on my amex account.

I've tried transfer online and phone but no joy.

I'm on a second gold reward card from amex but Amex said it has been deleted.

Emirates are saying that Amex are to blame as they are transferring the points over.

Any ideas?

I have no experience with Amex transfers, but to assist other posters who do: you say you've called, what did Amex say?

Yes I've called Amex who say the points transfer keeps getting rejected straight away

I've read on here before of issues with multiple linked accounts, did you ever link a previous MR account to a Skywards account? You say the card has been deleted by Amex but if it was ever linked this may be an issue.

Have you tried asking EK and Amex to both delete the link and then re-link them?

I know amex have done that - Emirates may need reminding

Provided you don't need them straight away, it might be possible to transfer to SPG to convert to starpoints and then transfer to Skywards?

I would lose half of the value of my points if I went via SPG

Issue solved- amex transfer finally worked.

Not sure how that happened.

Thanks for replies

For future reference how was it resolved? I'm currently waiting on the 6 month period before reapplying for the card so may end up with the same problem down the line.

Calls made to both amex and Emirates.

Get them to remove any old Amex cards.

Do transfers over the phone so you can see if they are accepted or not straight away

Can anyone advise on troubleshooting transferring Amex Platinum Membership Rewards to EK Skywards? Amex keeps telling me there's an error but not what the error is..........I wonder if the format of the Skywards number that needs to be entered on the site is not as shown on my Skywards card? (their format is odd...lots of spaces between numbers etc). I've played around with the format of the Skywards number but nada....TIA.

I am new to Skywards and had AMEX Platinum points to cover a possible upgrade, I did it online and it worked, it did take a few days to show up though. I didn't have to call anyone

Thanks for the input, it's appreciated.
Seems nobody here has had an issue doing this. Who knew? ;)

Fortunately after re-inputting my details many, many times, I managed to get it to work. Not sure what eventually "clicked" into place (perhaps non-matching phone numbers) but all good & the points credited instantly.

Finally I can get rid of my Emirates miles & account. Thank the lord :p
