And no, for those that don’t know, it is definitely not always a quiet/calm experience arriving or departing from HKT (depending on time of day it can be extremely busy) so a service like this is indeed well worth it.

This is based upon my experience with EY & QR but I am guessing it will be similar for EK too.

I've just come back from HKT flying business with Dragonair (it didn't offer any fast track services) we used the Coral Executive immigration services. I can highly recommend both arrival and departure as the new airport is still a shambles with large queues. The Coral lounge is ok but miles better than the old terminal. Its around 1500 thb each way.

Good feedback, thanks. Can you explain how the INBOUND service worked & how they expedited you through immigration?

I will certainly be prepared for my latest trip there this month ^

They meet you at the end of the jetway with a name holding your board. Typically two agents. They escort you to immigration and generally take you to a diplomatic or even crew lane. If unattended they wait until they are called forward. You stand before the immigration agent while they process you and they meet you on the other side. They then take you to baggage claim. They'll help retrieve your luggage and then escort you to your hotel limo.

Nonsense. I live in Phuket and to say that HKT attracts tourists doing Thailand for cheap alcohol and sex is a thoughtless generalisation.

I agree -- a crass comment from the OP

The QR Check-In staffer told me early morning/late night were manic. A bit vague, I know. In many cases its pot luck. I was told by the same staffer that its the late night/early morning Chinese flights that, in her words, "cause most chaos". I have personally have found that departing on the evening EY flight around 8pm - its very busy as was my 8am departure on QR a few weeks back.
Inbound, I have generally been lucky, whenever I have arrived.
My experience is based on literally dozens of visits to HKT BUT the new airport has a unique set of understaffing/IT equipment issues which preclude it operating at optimum throughput capacity, for now.

Thanks, very useful!

Since we're at it... there are so many hotel choices in Phuket... what's a no brainer/can't go wrong choice?

Thanks for the above info - so the inbound Immigration Fast Track/VIP meeting service is definitely up and running since the new airport opened on 16th September?

Please provide contact info for the company providing this service as I would like to book for a family coming in this week with a special needs child - and would like for them to not have to endure the long inbound immigration queues on that particular night :)

This is a broad question - what location on the island are you after, what level of accommodation, what type (ie resort, serviced apartment, private villas, ROTM hotel etc), and what facilities are you looking for?

I land at 8am from Dubai and depart after midnight.

Might book it for the arrival. For departure will be hours early. In EK F - it's a shame you have no fast track departure anymore - last year was great on departure.

Correct - not your quote daisymay2 - perhaps a mistype there, or they meant the OP of the post I quoted, not the OP of the topic

I also arrive at 8am and in J and disappointing no fast track - still debating with myself about paying for the service though.:(
