We use Coral Executive on every trip on JQ, TG and MI.

Haven't seen the new airport yet but HKT can be a zoo, particularly for departure.

On arrival Coral meet you as you disembark the jetway, take you to the diplomatic queue and offer to retrieve your luggage using the tags, though it's easier to identify them yourself. They will escort you outside to your hotel limo.

On departure they will whisk you past hundreds (no exaggeration) of pax through security and immigration and through to their lounge or the TG lounge then pick you up for boarding.

I highly recommend it.

The only better Meet & Assist service is in CAI of all ports where you can book a vehicle from the aircraft.

Totally agree with this.
Its easy to underestimate just how busy HKT can get, despite what some might tell you.

Plus the disproportionate number of infrequent leisure travellers just adds to the mess.

Yes, and many of these are from China (and some other locations too) where big tour groups come in, with little experience of international travel. Late night early/morning can be, er...challenging :)

I'm going to HKT in Jan in F.

We land at 8am is it worth booking this service? Think we leave at 11pm or so...

AS EK do not (apparently, rather bizarrely ) provide this, its worth it IMHO. Each to their own of course but if you hate lines, then its worth it. You might get lucky of course & there will be no lines.....for, oh, I don’t know, 20 quid/pax or similar its worth it IME, & I do HKT, oh at least 4/5 times/year.

Race is irrelevant. HKT attracts tourists doing Thailand for cheap alcohol and sex. That's certainly reflected at the airport and in Patong.

EK crew stay at the Westin Siray Bay on the other side of the island which is where we stay in a private villa. You can have a relaxing and luxe vacation in HKT and avoid the bogans of any nationality, but at the airport you cannot.

No generalisation there then. Or was that a personal reference?:p

No. Race is not irrelevant in regards to a degree airport chaos. This is demonstrated by the immaturity of certain nationalities in international travel. Fact. Not racist. Lets not get all politically (in) correct. Many countries attract tourists for sex/alcohol/parties but still have beautiful, quiet luxurious sides to them too. Ever been to the medeterranean!

While I agree there is a higher propensity amongst certain nationalities, or rather cultures, to what western countries would deem "unruly" behaviour, I don't think the word immature is right.

It's a fact that in some geographies many people are travelling for the first time, are unfamiliar with air travel, foreign cultures and have a different sense of etiquette. The important thing there is to know that they do have a sense of etiquette, it is just not always compatible with what others perceive to be the right way to behave.

“Immature" in the sense that they have travelled for a lesser amount of time. Not that they are inherently immature

Nonsense. I live in Phuket and to say that HKT attracts tourists doing Thailand for cheap alcohol and sex is a thoughtless generalisation.
