EK prices
Not sure how much longer I can justify some of the routes.
For example, Dxb HND in j for 2 = 32k aed Qatar Dxb HND with a stop for a coupe of hours 9,500 aed for 2!!! :D I know it's indirect but wow...a better product on the 787 as well. The lack of flexibility over my wife's plat status and these cheap fares will mean some Qatar flights next year for sure. |
This man also isn't happy with Emirates prices:

So I'm flying more with EK, and you're flying more with QR.
Somethings gone wrong with the space-time continuum! M |

QR is generally a lot cheaper than EK ex-UK. However, I'd pay a premium for the A380 from MAN.

Apparently not so much lately - QR have jacked up prices and EK is cutting!

Bearing in mind no A380, business class prices ex MAN, on QR, always come out absurdly higher for me. Etihad is often cheaper than both, especially when Business Saver fares aren't available.

You get what you pay for. Good luck with EY
* Having had previous strategy of collecting with BA, who are suffering death from a thousand service cuts, in all cabins (cheeky buggers even removed the amuse bouche from first). |

Oh, I've done my research carefully. Strategy is the earn miles with EK going forward*, taking business class when I can get approval (easy when saver fares available, raised eyebrows at this end when not), or the cash from our travel incentive scheme. The seats on EY do not look as good as those on Emirates (privacy looks poor even when compared to the Emirates 777, from the photos I've seen).

Brexit or Isis - the perfect excuses!
Surprisingly, Ex-UK is actually very reasonable at the moment. EK F to BKK, for example, is available for £3k, which is mad considering BA CW is £2,900. QR has become hideously expensive from the UK. Ex-EU fares are no better at present (for those based in the UK) due to the weakness of the Pound against the Euro. M Hopefully see you in the F lounge Nov 29th! ^:) |
