Oversold flights

Do EK ever stop selling first if y is so heavily overbooked?

I've got a flight in j, y is zero j is 7 and 2 or 3 and f is now 0. F was 3 then 0 then 3 now it's 0 again...and no seats have been selected is still 3 spare.

Makes me wonder if they've stopped selling f as they would have to off load too many pax?

Anyone seen this scenario?

Maybe considering switching it to a 2 class?

Never seen F closed because of Y. Maybe J is already overbooked and 2-3 seats left in F.

In general, no, they'd rather offload Y pax and take an F fare. Might be a request to hold inventory that's expiring and re-requested, or someone booking confirmed STF travel and then cancelling it and rebooking it etc. etc.

3 class a380 - looks like staff to me. No seats selected. Fingers crossed for missed connections or late cancellations.

On the other hand, they could be juggling with the F inventory / loads to ensure that a couple of seats are left available - just in case someone based in the US wants to book a last-minute award (in F, naturally) with AS miles.

Someone such as yourself - who generates a lot of revenue for EK as a result of actually flying with them (and very regularly so) would, as you know, always have less priority than an AS redemption....... :o

A brief visit to the dark side will make you appreciate your usual cabin so much more :)

It could have been worse - they might have substituted at 777!
