Perhaps you were saying it " tongue in cheek" . If so was it a Freudian slip to use the icon :p , instead of say , :) or. :D ?

I tend to agree with OP, EK knew he was connecting, they chose to depart. Offering ORD was right. AA is a major hub for AA. They should have paid for AUS. Is this why EU 261 was created to protect their flying public ?

That could be a valid expectation, especially when you're plat :)

You didn't explain why you declined going via ORD? Was this a through ticket to AUS? or was it just to DFW and had a separate reservation to AUS?

salwaheeb Nov 4, 2014 3:59 am

Actually I did explain previously. The women said we will send you to chicago but you have to find your way to austin from there!!! we donot deal with AA!!
Like its my fault they dont deal with AA

Which airline was the flight from DFW to AUS? Was that part of your original ticket?

My trip was Kuwait-Dubai -Dallas- Austin.
One ticket., one confirmation Number one E ticket number.
It was booked via emirates in Kuwait.
It would make sense that if I miss a connection and its not my fault that Emirates would accomodate me to my last destination.

I think you have a strong "case". Do write to EK and let us know how it ends. Great equipment and bling needs to backed up by responsive CUSTOMER Service.

What airline were on for the DFW-AUS flight?

The only airline who flies DFW-AUS is American Airlines and EK does not seem to have an interline agreement with them per the website.

I just tried to book your same itinerary and all were routed through either JFK (connecting on DL JFK-AUS) or San Francisco (connecting on Virgin American SFO-AUS).

Just curious.

edy4eva Nov 4, 2014 2:44 pm

The only valid routings to AUS ex-KWI seem to come under B9 (jetBlue)- see below so am also interested as to know what airline was the last leg(s) and how come EK didn't honour the ultimate destination?!

1. KWI-DXB-BOS-B6-AUS
2. KWI-DXB-DFW-B6-AUS
3. KWI-DXB-ZRH/VIE/ROM/PAR/NCE/MUC/MAD/LYS/LON/IST/FRA/DUS/CPH/BRU/BCN/ATH/AMS-MIL-NYC-EK-AUS.

Having followed the thread with interest, I had initially come to the conclusion that the OP had indeed received extremely poor treatment by EK. If the facts are exactly as stated, then the OP has my full sympathy.

However..... the plot has since thickened, with some posters (seemingly with good reason ...?) casting doubt on the actual ticketed routing as quoted.

In short :

- if the OP has given a full, 100% accurate, story (including the precise reaction of staff at DXB), then EK are wholly in the wrong as regards their attitude & treatment

- if however there are any inaccuracies, then things are far from clear cut......

Even taking Kuwait out of the equation and just looking at DXB-AUS on EK.com there are no routings offered through DFW (Looked at Saturday 15 NOV).

All routings go through SFO (VX to AUS from SFO), SEA (AS from SEA-LAX-DFW and LAX-DFW operated by AA and is codesahre with AS), and JFK (DL from JFK-AUS).

Looking at the lowest fare for KWI-AUS, the routing rules states

Code:

2. KWI-DXB-DFW-B6-AUS
so routing via DFW is indeed valid with onward travel on JetBlue

If it was a through ticket, then indeed Emirates may have screwed up; if EK offered routing via DFW through to AUS on its next service or offered a flight to ORD with the passenger responsible for own onwards travel as an alternative , then the airline may have something in its

Not doubting the original poster as an FYI just curious on the routing.

B6 does not fly DFW-AUS and I couldn't even get jetblue's website to price a DFW-AUS routing (it gives a "please choose a valid arrival city".

I tried to get a routing KWI-DXB-DFW-AUS and couldn't get it to pull up anywhere on any date but I am far from an expert on these tings like many on here. ;)

Again not doubting the OP just interested in the story and if EK was at fault.
