Thanks! Much of the same as has been reported before, but surprised to hear the cops tried to cover it up...

So, why is this being reported again now, a year after the convictions?

Slow news day.

There's only a certain number of pages they can fill with photos of Snowmageddon, aka The Beast from The East, aka Storm Emma, aka LIFE MOVES ON AND WE'RE NOT ALL LIVING IN BUNKERS EATING TINNED FOOD :)

A colleague and I are travelling on the same flight to BLR but on seperate bookings in First

I've made a car booking on my reservation but he has not.

Do I need to inform EK that there will be 2 of us in the car? No luggage so space is not an issue.

No issue - I've done that before.

Flew EK F and at DXB, they put me in what looked like an E-class station wagon. It did say "Emirates First" on the side of the car.

On the way back, at the hotel, they lumped me in with 3 other passengers inside a minivan.

Durban - a very clean white BMW 3 series.

Did you have an SPTC, that seems unacceptable to me.

The "old" F CD cars and then a minibus???

Very odd.

Perth, Australia flying J. I had Audi A4, family was driven in some Scoda. Cars seem contracted out to a local company.

In Durban and applicable to JNB and CPT as well, its sub-contracted to AVIS.

In JNB and CPT the CD is provided by Bidvest.

Going back to DUR, the vehicle was a Toyota RAV4! No problem for a short hop from Umhlanga, but a strange choice.

The paperwork I signed was on a Bidvest form.

Impressed by the quality cars you have been allocated and interesting to read what type to expect, generally have to agree.
However in early March my Chauffer failed to arrive for a trip to catch a NCL flight, despite a confirmation call the day before! Got a phone call ten minutes before his arrival time to say that the driver had not "clocked on" and no one had noticed.
Hastily arranged a local taxi for the 70mile trip.
Arriving back in MAN, First, I was allocated an Addison Lee taxi with yellow "not for private hire" stickers on it, not my idea of a limousine service. Don't want to appear too entitled when it comes to travel, but I think Emirates have let me down a bit on this occasion.
