Yes, it was on the UK site earlier too - I mentioned it in the New Website thread when I saw it.

Platinum upgrade" voucher"

It still is on the US site. Just go to the page where it shows the chart showing the difference between tiers (whee is shows opening doors as only for gold), and it is listed in that chart.

While I would love upgrade certs, getting just a single cert for a single leg when hitting 150,000 miles just seems so stingy in comparison to other programs that have upgrade certificates. But, I guess it is better than nothing, and nothing seems to be where we are now.

Hello everybody,

I am new here and i would like to share this information with you.

Started reading this thread yesterday and after that i started checking the German Website of Emirates.

Today, i finally got access to the Emirates German Website and free upgrades as a benefit for plat members is listed on the benefits section.

I truly dont understand the hype. There always have been free upgrades for top tier, never a guarantee but always a chance of full flights. It has become less frequent over time but still the occasional upgrade was there.

Now instead of the afbetical/number of miles etc etc pecking order now platinum go first, a much more natural selection. ie revenue based selection.

This was a guaranteed upgrade (when it existed).

Anyway, it was probably a April Fools joke gone wrong :)

The Platinum Upgrade Benefit could be gifted to another Skywards Member. An op-up could not.

I asked them yesterday if plats got the voucher would IOs get them too? Hope that didn't make them rethink it

The "Complimentary Upgrade" benefit has disappeared from the US website. This really is bad!! They seem to be mocking the program members.. it sucks.

Apparently it's "in the pipeline" but they announced too soon. When it does come iOS will also get it

I don't remember it being discussed at all so this is news to me but hey I won't complain if it is a benefit they do ultimately decide to introduce. The copy should never have been allowed to hit the production site at all though.
