Im on EK 16 on the 20th . :D but sadly only in Y. No upgrade offer email in the last 4 years that I have been gold.

I'm travelling HAM-DXB-CHC/AKL-SYD-DXB-HAM during February and March with my partner. We got upgrade offers Y-C for HAM-DXB (500 EUR p. P.), DXB-HAM (1800 AED p. P.) and AKL-SYD (252 NZD p. P.).

We took the AKL-SYD offer. We have no Skywards membership.

I received upgrade emails for all the sectors of my AMS-MAA-AMS trip, both for me & my wife. AMS-DXB/ DXB-AMS for Eur 385, DXB-MAA/MAA-DXB for AED 670. I bought the cheapest of Y fare, took the offer in all segments. Me- Silver, wife-blue. We got upgraded to F at the gate for our DXB-AMS segment. It was my first F travel, it was blizz :-:.

When worked out I paid exactly half the price of a normal J fare ^, F was a bonus, trip couldn't get better :cool:.

Offered a NZD252 upgrade from Y to J (AKL to SYD). Not a bad deal, but only a three hour flight so will probably give it a miss...... will reassess closer to the time. :D

Just got the email to upgrade my flight from Dubai to Tokyo Narita. The price is ridiculous. 3000 AED which is 816 USD. It will cost me 1267 USD to upgrade both my flights from Tunis then to Narita with business class mileage etc.

EK415 - SYD - DXB, 773, 14hr 30 flight. Y -> J for $AUD773 ($US810).
EK5 - DXB - LHR, 388, 7hr30 flight. Y -> J for AED 2569 ($US700).

I'm skywards blue. Am thinking it's not worth it at this stage.

EK415 is a good deal imo.

I would do EK415, longer flight. EK5 is a daytime hop, palatable in Y.

I'm doing EK415 in Y in July. Was hoping it would be around $500-600 for the upgrade. Hmm... still good value I suppose.

Do they send out the email fairly early? Or just a few days before?

I have had them sent to me from 2 weeks out, to 2 days out.

I'm not too sure, I haven't had the chance to put my QFF number on an EK booking yet ;)

I was too slow and now it says "Sorry, there are insufficient seats on the class and route."

Any chance that it will open up if people change flights? If so, what fare class do I need to monitor? Expert flyer is currently showing: J4, C4, I0, O0. And seat map shows 4 seats free. 9 days out from the flight.

EK432 - DXB - SIN, 77W, 7hr 30 flight. Y -> J for 2990 AED

No J class miles and chauffer drive of course. Definitely not worth it. By paying this amount extra both ways I could have gone in confirmed J.
