Upgrade location: Gate Route: DXB-PVG Flight number: EK302 (A380) Type of ticket: Flex Date of travel: 25/04/14 Tier status: Gold (Joined Gold October 2013) Tier miles to date: ~100,000 (will be Platinum in July 2014) Skywards miles balance: ~30,000 Number of pax on the same PNR: Single - just me, myself, & I Skywards DOJ (approx): May 2010 The first letter of your surname: R Was kinda expecting it, with expertflyer showing heavy seat occupancy in Y and light in J, with zero in F, and Y selling out for 3 days two weeks prior to the flight with avaliablity opening up in Y right until the date of flying. In the end not a seat left in J cabin, not sure how many were in F. Was quite nice to have after just having done a 16 hour in Y LAX-DXB with an 8 hour transit prior. |

The counter staff informed me that EK had changed the aircraft A330 from 2 class to 3 class and due to very low sale on J tickets, all J class will be upgrade passengers and service will be from Y. All in all - decent seat with Y service (a bit weird) |

Upgrade location: Gate Route: DXB-KWI Flight number: EK859 Type of ticket:Flex Date of travel: 22/05/14 Tier status: Platinum Number of pax on the same PNR: 1 While checking in I asked if I could get seat 6A or 6K. Was told that no seat was available on this flight other then my preselected one since J is overbooked. I was asked if I would like to use miles to upgrade to F and I declined stating I would rather hope for an opup. The checkin agent said let ne request that for you. She called someone and said to place me on the opup list. Got my J boarding pass and proceeded to the lounge. When boarding was called the person infront of me got told that you requested for an opup and it cleared. He was upgraded to F. At my turn I was told the same thing and upgraded to F. Is this something new now? |
