What do you think the qualification should be?

If it follows the "QF" simile, it would be 100,000 tier miles, but I thought there might be a kicker in there, so more like 120,000 tier miles.

Also, what extra benefits, other than perhaps more bonus miles, F Lounge access and more baggage, could a EK Platinum expect? Of course we won't know until they say so, but seeing as EK has the chance to create something new, it can't hurt to guess where they could go.

At 100,000 tier miles (if that is it, guessing!) that's a lot of flying; there'd have to be some handsome benefits for that kind of flying (perhaps confirmed upgrades - something which QF of any tier does not have).

I think it will be at 150,000 tier miles as 100,000 are still too easy to achieve.
Benefits? Lots of things could happen and we had plenty of threads about it already.
Let's see, we won't wait for too long anymore. :)
Looking forward to it!

I'm looking forward to it also... would be nice to know where the threshold is going to be set however, and when qualification will open.

If they want to improve on Gold benefits, the options are fairly limited IMHO:

1. A number of confirmed upgrades annually.
2. F lounge access (C3 will provide a LOT more F lounge space, and it's already empty).
3. Lounge guest in Y (let's not get into whether this should also be a Gold benefit...).
4. Higher bonus miles multiplier.

EK, please no F lounge access for Skywards Plat !
It's already busy enough with F passengers, and the quality will have to go down if you admit additional people.

F lounge is for people who pay for F. They fork out considerable money and expect certain level of service.

Till now EK was able to provide that. Hope it will remain this way.

El Puerco Volante.

El Puerco - what about flyers such as myself flying routes regularly which don't have F - the route only has J! These are the flyers who should be rewarded

What about a variable access system for the 4th tier pax for entry into the F lounge.
i.e entry only during the quiet periods. Ek knows the optimum lounge capacity anyway and also the number of people in the lounge (okay they dont track you when you go out of the lounge but they know your flight time anyway)

Say if there are 20 free spaces available, then they can admit 20 fourth tier travellers in. If there are no free spaces then you have to use the J lounge as usual.

What about J pax with Platinum tier in the F lounge? Won't be too overcrowded I assume.

There is a lovely J lounge available :p Sorry, you paid for J - you use J lounge. If F product is not offered on a certain route - it's not offered, period.

When I have to fly DXB-->CAI on a flight with no F - I have no rights to use F lounge.

But when I fly DXB-->BKK in F - I'd like to be able to relax in the F lounge in reasonable peace, since I paid for F product.

Still, given your name, you must be really suffering from this flights with no F ;)

A bit better, but still a no-go in my opinion. It would devaluate EK F product.

F lounge access is part of price of F ticket. Anything else may attract certain percentage of J flyers but will annoy a considerable chunk of F customers.

100000 miles seems like an even number

25k -silver
50k-gold
100k-platinum

I'll never reach platinum anyway. Most of my flights are Y with the occasional J once in a while.

It is far more likely that Platinum will inherit the Gold benefits, Gold will be given Silver benefits and Silver will get a pile of steaming dog excrement delivered by Fedex.
