How many 777's have the new business class (that is similar to or identical to the A380)? I saw one on Ultimate Airport Dubai and had no idea that some were even outfitted.

The A380s have seats in business class that become fully flat, where as the ones on the 777s are not fully flat (at a slight angle). So to answer your question, None.

Apologies if already discussed : do all 77W's have Suites in F ? EK page still shows a 12F config for some of those planes.

Thanks & regards,

There are a few 773's with 12F all 3 class 77W's have suites.

OK, so it's enough to choose a 77W with F and Suites are guaranteed.
Thanks for confirming, I like 77W Suites for the high walls and equally dislike the 12F seats :)

problem is you can't gurantee they won't swap....

On most routes you'd be unlucky but for shoter hops you sometimes play roulette.

Aircraft Code 38R in Expertflyer

My Emirates flight from Dubai to Hong King in F in February is showing as Aircraft type 38R.

As the Fleet guide only details 38L or 38M is 38R just a mistake on Expertflyer or some newer version of the A380?

Expertflyer just passes on whatever EK places, so if there's a mistake it's EK's. I have confirmed the presence of the 38R code in GDSs; for example, it's the seat map for EK382 on 15FEB DXB-HKG.

Maybe someone can explain what's the new config code for.

All A380s from roughly A6-EEU onwards have a new seating configuration in Y, with 2 extra seats at 80A and 80K.

On the date mentioned, the seat map for EK382 shows these seats, whereas the seat map for EK380 does not.

I suspect the new codes (there should be one for both LH and ULH) differentiate between these.

Actually EK have 4 diferent A380 cabin layout:

ULH Fleet:

F14 C76 Y399 and F14 C76 Y401

LH Fleet:

F14 C76 Y427 and F14 C76 Y429

Soon they will have one more cabin layout when they get the A380 with C + Y only.

A slightly off-topic post, the ICE/IFE touchscreen was malfunctioning on A6-ENF on a recent flight. Business class cabin, seats 2J and 2K.

Did they manage to reset it? If not, drop a note into EK/Skywards, you may receive a token amount of miles as compensation.

Haha, those exact screens in those seats on ENF broke on me almost a year ago now so nothing has changed by the looks of it!!!

I did notify EK, no reply yet. Seeing as RichL also had this problem, it seems like they don't care. :(

P.S: I did ask them to reset it, it fixed the problem for barely 5 minutes but as soon as the crew member left, the problem started again.

That's actually disappointing. I'm sure other people must have complained as well, but they still haven't fixed it. They didn't even reply to my email.

Engineering might not care, but Customer Affairs may throw you something to make you feel better :) I found it took a week or so to reply.
