EK interlining baggage

Hi all

Will EK interline baggage to VS on separate itineraries?

Thanks

You should be ok given that EK have interline agreements with most of the Virgin group airlines (ie Virgin America, Virgin Blue/Australia etc).

Just make sure you double check the final destination airport code is on the bag tag, especially if you are flying out of an airport which uses contract check-in staff.

If the initial response is no, check with an EK supervisor...good luck. Let us know how you get on. Its a good data point to have.

Hi,
Ive done this successfully a couple years back. NBO-DXB-LHR on EK and then LHR-JFK on VS and bags arrived just fine.

Happy travels!

I have done this successfully last month:
DUS-SIN with EK and then to JQ (Jetstar) SIN-DRW (Darwin).

Was successful (June '11) checking baggage DXB-JFK via DXB-LHR on EK and LHR-JFK on DL. Luggage arrived safely, with 3h connection at LHR.

EK also printed an LHR-JFK boarding pass, but the Delta gate agent at LHR reprinted on Delta paper to make the computer happy, and then repeated the usual visa & did-you-pack-your-luggage questions.

Assume there's no interline agreement between EK and QF?

According to other posts on this topic, yes, there is an interlining agreement between the Flying Kangaroo and Bling Air! One quick phone call will confirm it though.

Yes, did it just the other day though EK couldn't print my SQ boarding pass in DXB. Bags didn't make the 1 he connection at DEL, but got here the next day.
