AMEX Platinum gives you Hilton Gold and Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group elite gold as well.

FFM in Israel

we have all been reading in another post re the Matmid changes upcoming.
my query is regarding other carriers ie BA or UA or DL to the USA
and other European carriers/

what are the best CC to use in Israel (if one does not have option for a US card) to earn FF miles
on BA or DL
I am of course aware of the CAL Miles and more cards for LH

secondary question which carriers save LY and BA have true BIZ ex TLV to Europe
tertiary question which carriers to US and or Europe have best economy plus

thanks happy rosh hahshana to all

TK on widebodies and some of the others (its
impossible to know which before the flight)

JU refitted all planes with Euro business, unfortunately. I think all options have been mentioned except AtlasGlobal (to Turkey).

Also BA (although I now see they were mentioned above) and UX (on the UX1301/2 flights).

There aren't really any good deals around. That being said, UA has a partnership with Leumicard.

On the platinum card, every 150 shekel gets you 10 miles which is roughly $4/mile (compare to the Explorer card in the USA).

Not sure about DL but I believe you can convert Amex MR points at 1:1.

Don't know about BA either.

Note that Miles&More has an Israeli CC.

Anything new or interesting going on lately in the Israeli points/miles card scene?

I saw on Facebook that Amex Israel was/is offering a 600 MR point signup bonus for the Platinum card, which is quite unheard of.

Unheard of for Israeli cards maybe. By american standards the sign up bonus is laughable where the normal bonus is at least 50,000 points/miles and sometimes higher.

Oh of course, I have multiple U.S. cards myself! I'm just discussing the Israeli market... curious if any of these reforms (separation of issuers from banks) will yield any positive changes.

Also, the Amex Flycard Premium is apparently available to all now as a non bank-issued card (חוץ בנקאי)?

I was trying to convert my Amex points to Elal points and I enter my 7 digit Matmid number but the system keeps saying I need a קידומת
So I tried SLxxxxxxx since I converted to silver 8 months ago. Didn't work. Only when I entered TLxxxxxxx - did it go thru which means Elal hasn't updated Amex in at least 8 months.

Amex Israel came out with an incredible offer today for November (there are two versions, but I will only mention the one that applies to the Platinum card):

100 MR per 100₪ in charges for online purchases on both Israeli and foreign sites, up to 1000₪/1000MR.

At a rate of 4-5 points/miles per Israeli MR for most partners, this comes to 4000-5000 miles, or 13.5-17 miles per dollar!

For those that prefer El Al Matmid, it comes to 167 Matmid points.

You have to add the offer to your card first.
