entropy is correct, it is now just The Jaffa. Queen of Sheba in Eilat used to be Hilton, but was deflagged a long time ago. Without knowing the specifics, it is impossible to know why the franchise was lost. The David Citadel also used to be Hilton. It is possible that the hotel chooses a brand until it becomes established enough that if feels it does not need the branding to get clients.

The Jaffa was not deflagged but reflagged as a Marriott Luxury Collection property.
That said, this thread is about Sde Dov’s closure. I suggest the viability of Eilat’s tourism industry be discussed in a new thread in the Middle East destination forum.
