The question I would like get to answer to is: "Is LY management interested in getting LY into an alliance? If not - why not? If yes - what is being done about it?"

Being realistic - the only alliance where all the airlines are from countries that recognize the State of Israel is *A (Egypt still has diplomatic relationship with Israel, right?). Could someone imagine SV and LY in the same alliance Or even QR/MH and LY...

I also think OW would be the best option, but it is unlikely to happen.

Question is best for whom? Hard to see that LY brings much to any of them, Maybe Etihad Partners?

Nada. They're in Skyteam

They bring those adorable cute A318s. And they probably raise the average quality...

It is nice to see El Al continue to improve: 737-800 retrofit, 3 more 738s to come, and maybe a Kangaroo route
It is high time they start to refurbish their 777s though.

They just should have chosen GE for their 787s given the issues with RR.

I wish LY could enter Skyteam. I know it is highly unlikely though...

Yep, the 738 refurbishment is a welcomed step. Can't get too excited about 3 leased 737s though...

While I agree they continue to improve in terms of aircraft and new routes, MATMID is getting worse by the day...

Getting PL is so easy - 1000 points and 20 flights.
PL is the new GL. I think that PL today has the same perks as GL ten years ago.

Seriously? That's what was needed for GL until recently, although regardless of how travel savvy I consider myself, I find it's pretty much impossible keeping up with the changes to the Matmid program every other week...

So when did this change, and how much is needed for GL now?
