222 seats in economy
32 Business 28 Premium Economy 222 Economy total 282 pax thats more than the 280 on the 777 6 - FIRST 35 Business 34 Economy Plus 204 Economy (for comparison AC have 298 on 787-9 AF has 276 AA has 285 KL has 294) All these airlines have herringbone in business + premium economy) One difference I see is that the others fit in 30 business class seats between doors 1 and 2 and EL AL only fits in 28 ) |

It may be more in total, BUT it's 9 LESS in business and first combined than the 777, and that's a VERY big difference.

Additionally, knock off 2 seats for the spoiled-brat pilot rest seats, another 4 for the dead-head spoiled brat pilots and then upgrades are going to be incredibly scarce, even more so than today. That basically kills El Al's competitive edge for the one-destination FF's (TLV-NYC) including me.

Anyone know what premium economy will be like?
|
This may suck for the NYC flyers, but it'll be a yuge upgrade for us in YYZ.
|
of course its a big difference from the 777, its a much different aircraft.
you'll also have 28 seats with about 38' pitch. I'd rather be able to fly knowing i'll have 38' if I'm paying full fare economy than the slight chance of being upgraded and if not staying in coach. But i dont think you will need to worry about NYC nights flights just yet, im pretty sure they will continue to be 777 - even after 744 leave the fleet ( with a bigger premium class offering) I wonder what the plans are for the new 777 interiors. |
Most of the flights out of JFK are 747. I can't see them switching to 777. I would imagine we will be getting some of the new planes. ( or am I missing something here)

LY may need 4 779s |
Just to make it clear, where did you get all the info regarding the 787s? I did see any original source stating those facts...
|
Are LY going for 3-3-3 or 2-4-2 in economy?
