Perhaps not directly, but often times the messenger is blamed for the message.
Having said that, as their official rep here Liat must be prepared to absorb the criticism posted on here and come up with answers. I think she does herself no favors by disappearing for long periods of time either, and it really shouldn't have taken 6 days to respond here and even that only after being prompted by ELAL. Problem is, I get the feeling even that isn't her fault, and she hasn't got much say in when and how she responds here (Although might be wrong about that...). |
Clubman,
My impression of EL AL as an organization, which is based on my conversations with insiders as well as my own observations during the DO, is that the company is highly entrenched, political, and bureaucratic. As such, those who speak for the company, like Liat, need to tread responses carefully. It just may be that she needs clarification and approval from higher ups before she makes a response, and given the nature of that company, it can take some time. Therefore, though she is the face of the company on this forum, I think we need to be mindful not to unload on her and have empathy for her situation in light of how the company operates. In my opinion, given the importance of this forum ( I actually do believe flyertalk is an important forum as it has the largest concentration of ff's on the internet) it would be incumbent on someone within EL AL management to aid Liat in expediting answers to questions, etc. That would require getting a manager that actually knows the company and the industry, the type of person that is definitely lacking within the organization. |
ELY001, I fully agree with that.

No one here is stupid enough to think Liat is in any way shape or form responsible for ELALs policies, or in this case inability to develop a decent app (or website for that matter).

Hey ELY001 and Clubman, You're both right. I'm doing the best I can within my boundaries to provide you with as much useful information and answers as I can get. There are policies that I have to follow regarding release of different kinds of information and sometimes I'm waiting for the best answers. Regarding the late responses – noted. I'll be more responsive in a timely manner. As the company's representative here, I should always do my best to - provide you with as much details & information as I can possibly get and release, listen, and most importantly – learn. All your feedback, regarding the app or regarding other issues that have been put up here, is being taken very seriously and is considered by the relevant factors in our company. I guarantee that. Liat. |
Thanks Liat.
