Two things in this threade made me personally chuckle, here's #1:

OK, we all agree Boeing pays for the retro-fit, and that it makes sense only if it takes less then two months. So, if they leave it at it, no need for further compensation, right?

As if we're actually negotiating on behalf of El Al and Boeing. Heh.

Some of us try to understand LY's business model. Nothing more nothing less.

Some of us also understand that EL AL management reads what is written here and we wish to offer constructive advice so that the airline could improve.

I'm all for that for things like service & seats, but I doubt very much they make choices about taking aircraft early based on FT.

I agree. Ultimately they make choices based on internal factors such as finances, organizational plans, and issues surrounding organizational behavior and decision making.

However, it never hurts listening (or in this case, reading) the opinions of those outside of the organization, even on forums like this one.

No, but it will not change a thing.

That is precisely the sort of self destructive thinking that inhibits progress, causes stagnation, and leads to decline. Unfortunately, a significant amount of people in and around EL AL have that sort of mentality which is precisely why the company is at its current dismal state.

I laugh because of the long discussion in this thread and the other thread. Elal management don't care....

YOU WISH (as do I) that any of the fat cows in El Al management reads or cares about anything written here or any customer opinions - even from customers who are successful businessmen. Management, from Tami Borowich on down, care nothing about their brand or even about making money (yes, you read correctly). Its all about prestige and favors for a bunch of old school, old boys club, ex-air force shlubs who haven't a clue about the commercial airline business and still operate as if they were a Mapai sponsored monopoly, knowing full well that even if they are theoretically a public, non-governmental corporation, the Israeli government will never let them fail. They have no interest in competing - and to prove it, the latest strike had zero to do with Open Skies and everything to do with squeezing a subsidy out of the Finance Ministry. They used their employees as pawns.

Nobody reads this forum. Liat, as well-intended as she may be, is just a cosmetic olive branch, as are all the TP/PL "concierge" folks - who have to constantly run interference with the fat cows in order to get the simplest of benefits for the best customers. Its just cosmetics.

While harsh, I do feel that post was 100% spot-on.
