I wonder if GL will also get for free.

Considering GLs can choose an exit row which still sounds like a better bet than this supposed Premium Economy, I would imagine the answer would be yes, but remains to be seen I guess.

That would be illegal, even if they did have a CC on file...

They should have the credit card used to purchase the ticket. As for illegal, why? There's a fee for doing what you're doing, and you refuse to back down.

Because you haven't given them permission to use your card.

In the US, they're allowed to (at least, according to reports by FAs and pax on the UA board, they can)

Sure you have, you gave them permission to bill you for airfare. You self-upgraded, you know it costs extra, obviously you know there will be consequences.

what about the people that paid cash for their tickets through a travel agent?? what if someone else paid for your ticket with his cc? I'm sure its illegal to just charge the cc they have on file.

It should be much easier than that.

"Sir, this seat cost additional money. If you choose to stay here, you will have to pay."
"I'm not moving."

Then automatically charge his credit card on file the additional cost.

Warn him that if he doesnt cooperate then he can deal with security upon landing. I dont understand why an FA would tolerate that.

Those passengers are rebooked on a flight leaving Gaza Airport for their return.
