3 gossips & Facts.....

Gossips:
- EL-AL to buy another 747, Some says from Singapore Airlines some says another company...

- In dew days there will be a big transformation in the food at EL-AL,
It was decided to abandon Tnuva and other external provider which comes in additional to food TAMAM (which is elal subsidiary) and everything will be done and marketed as EL-AL premium food, For Example, EL-AL Yogurts...
(not sure if EL-AL will make them or not as i am a bit sceptic about tamam, but it will be marketed as EL-AL ones)

- EL-AL credit card vision of mr. romano is raising from the death..., Someone in EL-AL thinks that with the amount of people transferring points from CCs to Matmid, If EL-AL will give extra benefits if they will use EL-AL ccs (Like Club365, PowerCard...) many will be convinced to move

Facts:
- EL-AL officially moves to Gate 32 on LHR
- EL-AL to "Shrink" (Later on probably cancel) co-operation with UA...
- 20% more points to all pax that will continue from JFK with JetBlue as a connection to existing EL-AL flight...

Enjoy!

Great, another old 747-400. How about LY makes a deal with Boeing for some 787s and 747-800s.... That'd be something to be excited about.

UA doesn't "cooperate" with LY now... (and neither does CO).

They do, You can buy a ticket from EL-AL including UA segment (rather one ticket from el-al and one ticket from UA) - This is going to be stopped...
probably because of the jetblue stuff...

That's stupid on LY's part, but that's typical LY.

ebzed, you seem to spend a lot of shekels with LY, can't you talk some sense into them about their.... dafuk business practices?

Oh goody! And what about people who live in NY--or who are visiting there. I understand they want to promote Jet Blue--its a good airline I use it, BUT when I come back from Israel I am not going anyplace else.

Very stupid..., I missed (due to el-al) the jetblue flight this morning from jfk to charlotte, the only next available flight at jetblue was at 5pm while Delta and others have plenty other flights... EL-AL tried to "sell" me that they cannot move me from JetBlue to anyone else because of pricing and that maybe jetblue will do this and i should go there and solve my problem there
(while i had an el-al ticket!).

After 3 phones calls, 2 representative on one yell, i was moved to Delta... 8-)

What do you mean ?
Well, you're TPL, and from what you've posted here, you get a lot of special treatment (at least @ LLBG)...

Who did they listen to with their substandard new premium cabins?
Anyone tell them to make their website not suck?

I agree, but it doesn't seem like those 787s are being delivered anytime soon. And, not to be a stickler, but I believe they're actually 747-8s and not -800s. Either way, any news on them? Last I heard, there was low demand for the passenger model, and Boeing was considering canceling the whole project, but that was months ago, and I haven't heard anything since. I'd love for those to replace the 744s!

I've never heard of an interline agreement between LY and UA. How did it make sense, considering they already had existing agreements with AA and DL! I've never seen the ability to book an LY segment from UA...

If they keep the SQ seats, I'll be very happy!

Plenty of people spend a hell of a lot of money with LY (and other airlines)
You don't honestly believe they have the slightest bit of influence on their decision making.

If they keep buying decommisioned planes from SQ, who knows, LY might get the A380, like this:

Now, to be serious again, when is LY going to understand that only buying old planes is not interesting both commercially and financially in the long run.

Most airlines discuss changes and new product offerings with a sampling of their best customers and corporate travel managers, IIRC, LY did demo some of the seat candidates and picked one of the worst options.

LY won't be able to hold off competition from US carriers offering lie-flat options in C, not to mention their lack of an extensive connecting network in the US.

I agree to the first part, but to the second, why do they lack an extensive connecting network? Between B6 and AA in JFK (forgetting DL and any other possible partners,) they seem pretty set. That's better than DL's network from JFK and US's network from PHL. CO/UA will have a great network from EWR as does DL from ATL, but they at least compete. And they also have more flights to NYC than DL has to ATL.

entropy Dec 15, 2010 4:27 pm

They compete. its not seamless, though CO would hassle anyone for missing a flight. (see above). AA and B6 don't have as extensive a network as CO.

COUA offers a one-stop shop, and presumably they will @ either ORD/IAD in the future, probably ORD.
