Availability in LY flights

Hi

The availability on LY flights used to look like C2 I2 D0 ... Y4 S4 M4 ...
That is a maximum of 2 in C, and of 4 in Y, even in completely empty
flights.
I've just noticed that currently in expertflyer.com it shows like in
most carriers with a limit of 9..

LY11:
F9 A9 P0
C9 I9 D9 Z5 R0 W0 X0
Y9 S9 M9 Q9 B9 K9 U9 H9 N9 V9 J0 T9 L0 G0 O0

Although it doesn't improve X availability more information is always
welcome..

The advantage is that if it shows less than 9 then you have a good idea as to exactly how many seats really are free, whereas before you had no idea until they were almost all gone (in business and first they never had more than 2 free showing).

There is a little bit more information in KVS where you can see seat maps
for most flights, but not in expertflyer..

Most applications and websites recently changed the way they access airline information, which probably explains the change in display.

Are you sure you’re not seeing the availability of 9 seats on an interline connecting flight, rather than the LY operated ones?

I just checked, and for me still showing max of 2 for C or F and 4 for Y...

Thanks for noticing! As of last night we switched most of our availability inventory to a new and we think better data source.

Not anymore. It was an oversight on our part, but now LY seat maps are available on ExpertFlyer. So now you can also create Seat Alerts with them.

If you find any issue with the cabin displays please email customercare@ and we'll have a look.

The system is still not 100%. For example, in ExpertFlyer: LY 213 on 1st September shows:

C8 I8 D4 Z8 R3

... but there are only 5 seats free in business class.

LY 316 on 5th September shows:

F8 A8

... but there are only 7 seats free in First Class.

????

It is never a good idea to use seat maps as any indicator of availability. However if you must, be sure to include the Blocked seats as those are not assigned to passengers yet. If you do, you'll see the numbers match as LY 213 as 3 Blocked seats and LY 316 has 1.

Well how come I'm still getting the old availability count?

Would it help if I stopped paying for the premium plan...? ;)

Email on the way....

It would be great if there was also an "El Al Voice" :)
Thanks for the update, EF

If you do the search that 4X-EL did in post #6, you see F9 for LY317 and C4 for LY315, whether or not you specify LY in the search.

Yes I did, but we need you to tell us the exact search you are doing to get those results. Send [email protected] an email with the exact search critera that's in the blue colored section of the results page, or better yet a full screen shot of the results page.
