Question Earned double points, Is this standard?

I was voluntarily bumped off a flight, and I know see that my Qantas card was credited with points twice (once for the bumped flight, and once for the next day on the flight I actually took).

Is this done on purpose, as a goodwill gesture to the passenger, or is this a mistake in the system?
Is this a standard thing for all frequent flyer programs?

Is this an LY question or a QF question? Was this a QF flight? Did you get money and accomodation or just the points?

Forgot to mention that it was of course a ELAL flight (although the question might still be slightly QF related, but I beleive it was ELAL who credited the points).

I was given a voucher for a free ticket, plus transportation to Jerusalem and back (I didn't need accomadation).

Sounds like a mistake. You shouldn't have gotten the points twice.

Its a Bug, Since he was "Check In" twice, and no one bothered canceling his original pass, the system understood he fly twice.
And he got twice the points.

Points are granted once you checked-in, If you do not appear for the flight,
Its EL-AL duty to remove him from the flight, Either he made the "Deal" on the very last minute and someone forgot it, or they were simply lazy...

They had told me to wait to wait right untill before the flight closes, as some passengers might of not turned up, they didn't take my bags (although I could keep them newt to the supervisors desk, so I could wander about without pushing my luggage), but perhaps in the system I was checked in.
