Easyjet Baggage Question
 

I'll be traveling on easyjet shortly and I have a carry on bag that fits there requirements but I also want to take a backpack/personal item. While I know easyjet only allows 1 carry on with no person item, I was wondering has anyone gotten away with having a personal item too? Is it possible to pay for the personal item and not have to check the carry on? As I could easily place the personal below my legs then the carry on in the overhead bins.

No you will not "get away with it". It is one bag only and if you get past check in they will get you at the gate and take it off you there.

The rules are clear - one bag only. Don't know why people have difficulty with that concept, it's not as if it's written in Klingon.

You might get way with a "personal item" but you might also find you have a large bill to pay otherwise you don't fly.

I have actually been thinking about getting one lately myself so if you get one tell me how it is.

Then just check your suitcase into the hold, or fly with an airline that allows multiple cabin bags.

Easyjet only guarantee bags that fit under the seat will be allow into the cabin anyway.

If you are in the US, you could get a Scottevest.

I've gotten away with it a few times. Either cause it was too late for check-in or what have you. Was nerve racking though, waiting for someone to say something to me. They never did though. They only really seemed to care about bags bigger than their regular carry on dimensions. Once stuck 2nd carry on in the 1st bag. If it isn't too bulky, just take it out while on the plane.

I suggest checking the Travel Products forum first, as there seem to be quite a few complaints about them.

You can have this - i.e. a Bagket or similar - plus a small bag.

Yes and on airlines like AF where they limit the weight of your carryon you can put the heavy stuff in the Bagket.

I figure in winter I can wear it underneath my coat anyway so fewer laughs ;-)
