Not sure if it has been mentioned before in this thread. But Donut Man in Glendora, California gets a lot of love around here. They have a famous Strawberry Donunt (in season) and my personal favorite is their Tiger Tail..

The Market Basket in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Not a lot of variety as it just one of the many items in this high end supermarket but they have the best Boston cream and powdered donuts.

Doughnuts of Pittsfield Rye Bakery... they are the best. I love them.

oh. yes. I have eaten that once. Loved it. I miss it. Never tried Tiger Tail though.. will try that next time I''m there.

How many of you have tried the doughnuts of RANDY’S DONUTS (LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA) ... they are supposed to be the best doughnuts ever. They are pure heaven.

Freshly made jam donuts from the donut van at Queen Victoria market (melbourne) can't go wrong! Otherwise Krispy Kreme's doughnuts are pretty good too, but too sweet for me >.<

Japanese Doughnut Briefcase

This seemed the right place to post a link to Japan's protective lockable doughnut briefcase.

Might work for bagels, too, but that's another thread.

Regarding the lockable briefcase: that's awesome! I particularly like the indication that you can place a sucker in the designated "center hole."

"You can use any regular lock to make sure nobody... and I mean NOBODY takes your donut"

Ha! Japanese food storage designers are ingenious.

If anyone has been to Atlantis in the Bahamas, they made the most amazing doughnuts in the mornings for breakfast. A warm pastry topped with a light and warm chocolate or vanilla icing. Never have I tasted a better doughnut.

I was in Seattle last weekend, so I dropped by Top Pot because of the recommendations in this thread. They certainly make some tasty doughnuts and good coffee. I was particularly found of the pumpkin cake doughnut, but for my money, Round Rock Doughnuts still take the cake. Maybe someone who came to the first Austin Mega Do and had them during the Customer Contact Center tour and who has also tried Top Pot could offer their viewpoint?

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I definitely want to check out Old Fashioned Donuts. It's waaaay on the south side and in kind of a scary area....

Nothing beats krispy kreme for glazed...

While I've never had Top Pot or Voodoo before (someone remind me next time I'm in the PNW!), I sat across from an FA on a QX shuttle flight recently and, because of the turbulence, got to talk for the entire flight. The subject of donuts came up (someone had boarded with a box of Voodoo), and the FA said that Voodoo's donuts are more known for their interesting flavor combinations and toppings (they're famous for their maple bar with bacon on top, and they also do donuts with different sugary cereals on top), but Top Pot's donuts are far supreme in actual quality.

Hmmm. My bacon would have to be much crispier than this, but I like the idea, if perhaps there were a little more bacon involved:

On donuts (doughnuts?) there's no debate...

The best are from the Canadian chain Tim Horton's.

My favourite at TH is their biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage and eggs. Better McDonald's IMO. OTOH, I seldomly eat TH's donuts (or donuts in general).
