Something I have only seen in the Midwest is Valomilk. Love them! There are 2 cups in a package (like Reese's) - chocolate on the outside, marshmallow cream on the inside. Doesn't quite taste like marshmallow, though - it's very creamy/runny - not sure how else to describe it.

Don't know how regional these are (since I haven't looked here on the west coast) but Little Debbie snacks, especially the Swiss Rolls, are made in TN and were a favorite of my childhood. I think of them as being in a similar category as Moon Pies. I don't eat them often but once in a while I get a craving for them. |

Have you tried a Goo Goo Cluster? This was the local Nashville specialty when I was growing up. Caramel, marshmallow and peanuts (or pecans, in the Supreme version) slathered with chocolate. Like a Turtle on steroids. I haven't had one in years, because I like my fillings to stay where they are.
Goo Goos were part and parcel of my childhood in BNA. The Standard Candy Co in BNA still makes 'em and they are available at any Cracker Barrel store (which has HQ at Lebanon TN near BNA)...so convenient for my occasional cravings. I tend to favor the Supremes with pecans these days. Standard Candy Co also used to make the King Leo peppermint sticks in the round metal tin...anyone seen 'em lately? |

A loose bag of these bars where the squares weren't lined up neatly enough or maybe there was a missing one or the bar was short. They came in both light and dark chocolate. Look carefully where they're made. The last time I had a peek, it was in Indonesia. Campbell Soup owns Arnott so I am guessing the Tim Tam name was owned by someone else in N. America hence the change of name for use in N. America. You can get them here in the States at Cost Plus World Market. They sell them as "Arnott's Biscuits". But I've only ever seen the chocolate and chocolate caramel filled ones. They have a much better assortment available in Australia. :D I like the Dark Chocolate ones and my friend just got back from Sydney and brought back some Kahlua filled ones. Yummmmm. |
Definitely Bounty Bars in Europe. Much better tasting (to me) than Mounds.
