Triple XXX is sometimes available in fountains in TX at times, it is some good stuff. Very frothy and thick.

Otherwise I really like IBC, but a Barq's or A&W will do if nothing else(as they seem to be available across the nation)

A&W is always good. But Im a big fan of Sioux City Sasparilla out of the bottle though. The BP by my work has it and every once in a while i'll stop in specifically for one of those.

I enjoy Berghoffs and Goose Island. There was nothing better, however, than a Dogs n Suds (in Grayslake, IL) after a day of fishing on L Pistakee!

There's one in my area (though I can't remember where its made) called Buckin RootBeer. It's one of our favorites.

All Boylans soda is strictly cane sugar. I also love their ginger ale :D

I'm still going with Red Ribbon as my choice.

Somebody had mentioned that most root beer is too sweet and heavy. Red Ribbon has higher carbonation, more flavor, and less syrup/sweetness to it. They also use real cane sugar instead of corn sweetners. It's hard to find, but a good choice.

There's a shop that sells mostly soda (including Red Ribbon and all of the Natrona Sodas for that matter) and other specialty beverages close to where I live in Los Angeles. It's a very interesting place to visit...sodas from all over the world, but only bottled drinks are sold here:

Slightly OT, but Galco also has some of the hard to find candy such as Idaho Spuds, Zero Bars, Necco Wafers, Nut Goodie, Abba Zaba, Chik-O-Stix, Mallo Cups, etc. It's a fun place to visit and nice to pick up a treat or two.

Bought some Berghoff's this afternoon - one quart for $0.88 at Joseph's Marketplace in Crystal Lake, IL.

The best rootbeer ever (in my family's estimation) is Dominion Root Beer, made with honey instead of cane sugar or corn syrup.

A little off topic, but has anyone heard of Dr. Pepper made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup? A friend who lived in TX for a time said that Dr. P originated down there and this is the original recipe. He said that you can still buy it that way down in TX, but nowhere else. Anyone else heard of it?
