Some say the smell of coffee gets them up in the morning. True, it works for me. But the aroma of bacon will get me leaping out of bed. Absolutely irresistable.

bacon: do you like it crunchy?

I like my bacon well done and very crisp.

In the UK the bacon I had was very greasy and limp.

I buy this fabulous bacon from Niman Ranch, from happy pigs that led a great life and are dispatched, cut up and smoked with real wood smoke. No nitrites added, thank you.

Bacon is wonderful. It is said to be the undoing of many a vegetarian. I eat about half pound quite often. I'm having some now.

Ahhh, people who understand. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif When bacon is extremely well-done, it has a wonderful flavor. The more likely it is to crumble, the better it tastes. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...m/thumbsup.gif

Somewhere in between.

I love it very crunchy and slightly thicker than normal. There is a restaurant near me that does the best bacon cheeseburgers in the world. The key is big, flavorful pieces of crunchy bacon. Not the limp, hard-to-chew pieces that are commonly thrown on top of cheeseburgers.

Having spent a year in Britain, I grew to also like their bacon, but not as much as the crunchy stuff. We even found a local pub that would cook it crunchy for us Yanks...

I'm with empedocles on this, but when I'm having bacon in a salad, I do like it crispy-crumbly. And real bacon, please. None o' that processed synthetic gravel that pretends to be bacon bits.

Peanut butter sandwich with crisp bacon and maybe some lettuce - Ummmmmm!

The Brit bacon is the best I've ever had (the round stuff). The sausages, however ....

The only food I like to be cooked until it's burnt is bacon.

I prefer it kind of ham-like and moist, which is the way they usually serve it in the UK.

However, a crunchy piece of bacon is quite pleasant too.

Chewy...I have pretty sensitive tastebuds and hate that burnt taste that's prevelant. Perfer the salty, chewy taste.

Same thing with grilled stuff, I don't like my hotdogs black.

I prefer my pig cold and raw. Good for the digestion. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

I like my bacon to kind of fall apart when I put a piece in my mouth. aka, very crispy.

I eat the stuff about twice a year, usually when I'm on vacation and now because of this posting I want some. Oh, I feel winter fat coming on!
