Chicken sandwich, Coke, & Swedish Fish.

Lunchroom at work...didn't feel like going out and forgot to pack a lunch.

Actually I ran across an awesome vending machine when I was stuck for quite a few hours doing an all-night network cutover at a hospital. The vending machine made decent personal pizza and hot wings.

Yum! Those vending machines should be everywhere.

Mine consisted of Chex Mix, Snickers bar, and a diet lemonade.

Forgot my lunch & purchased a couple of "not so good" hot dogs from the machine.

I am doing this as we speak and this particular hospital has no such awesome vending machine. :( Nor an all-night cafeteria. We do have a supply of stale muffins to last until morning though.

A beer and a slice of pizza.

When I passed through the Boise airport a few years ago, I saw they had baked potato vending machines. Those sounded promising, but I didn't try them.

A dinner of a vending machine cheeseburger well after midnight marked the low night of my grad school career.

Vending machines in Japan for tea, beer, wine, noodles, ice cream and very good French fies!

Vending machine in Chicago after a late flight arrival. Hershey bar, chips and a Diet Coke. What class!

Have had many a meal out of vending machines, especially when working graveyard shift and didn't pack a lunch.
Our company had a pretty good selection of choices.

I've eaten tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches and chips out of vending machines at hospitals. It's sometimes better than hospital food.

I've also eaten many a pre-made sandwich from convenience stores while on the road.

In my early days of consulting when I frequently stayed at the office until 2 or 3 am, I ate more vending stuff than I cared to.

As far as hotels, I ate ice cream for dinner once out of a vending machine at a Hampton Inn in Newark after arriving at 1 am from an uber-delayed flight (and subsequently delayed airport shuttle).

I've bought hot pockets from the vendings for dinner!

Late at night at a JFK airport area holiday inn- my husband was asleep and we'd skipped dinner, and my stomach was growling! I got several packets of chips and pretzels, and I think a twix bar as well. Yuck.

I know there were french fry machines, but not baked potato machines. They cooked fries to order in only a couple minutes and had a trough full of ketchup packets to offer also. The machines were a bit smelly though.

The oddest vending machines I've ever seen were the mineral water dispensers in Soviet Moscow. Thristy patrons had to select a used glass from the top of the machine, rinse it out, and then dispense a few kopeks' worth of water into it before drinking. Wierd! I think the Japanese have the market cornered on interesting vending machines. I heard about one that sold used underwear!

If you could afford to eat meat, then grad school was good to you

My friend and I spent our last peseta on cheese sandwiches and beer from a Barcelona vending machine. Too bad we missed the last train out of town that night and there was no place to change money. That was a very long night in the rain - but we did have beer
