Timothy Not that it's relevant here. |
The one I'm allowed to bring on an airplane. :o

Yeah, I always chuckle at people who buy Aquafina or Dasani. They don't realize that they're stuck with whatever tap water the bottler is using. Hopefully it produced in a part of the country with decent water. ALWAYS look for something that says spring water as it is well spring water.

Evian and Fiji

Evian
I'd still go for EVIAN!

Evian, Vittel, Fiji, for cheap stuff, Crystal Geyser.
Borzhomi in ex-Soviet countries is good. |
my opinion
In my opinion Fiji or Poland Spring are the best.
|
I really like NAYA water, however I can't find it anywhere anymore. Otherwise I just drink the Nestle water from good old Wal-Mart.
I am really waiting for the Trump Ice to make it to my local area too! |
Fiji is the best.

It's water!
Tasteless, with varying mineral compositions. I go by the package (on rare times I need to buy it). Like the Fiji 500ml bottles with a palm frond image at the back (viewed throuhh bottle as a window); The Norwegian bottle (quite a heavy bottle) which resembles a toiletry/shampoo bottle, in glass, is nice too. :) |
I also vote for Fiji, however many of the bottled waters, cheap and expensive, taste similar to me unless I really want to concentrate and ponder the water I'm guzzling. I don't like Evian though, to me it has a "chalky" taste.

Zepherhill for still
Perrier for carbonated - it has just the right amount of fizz for me drew |
Voss
Penta Acqua Panna |
Evian
|
Voss makes you look cool. :D
I think Evian tastes the best. I also like Blu. |
Gerolsteiner for fizz... anybody's tap water works for non -fizz. I wish European restaurants didn't try to make you feel weird to ask for tap water....

For still water, I like Vittel or Cristalline. Never really liked the taste of Evian. I never buy still water in a restaurant and always get a carafe of tap water ("Château La Pompe" :D) instead. For carbonated, it's normally Perrier or Badoit, and I like Badoit Rouge too. Not so fond of San Pellegrino, which is what's usually offered in restaurants here. |
I dont like Evian and that sorts of uncarbonated water, only to thin out some juices !
Perrier is my favourite, however last Sunday I got San Pellegrino served in St Monica which was ok as well ^ Being in germany for instance I just buy Gerolsteiner or Apollinaris as I dont find it reasonable to spend that much money for premium water when you have great products available for much less. |
Badoit is a very nice, well bottled water.
Esp. when travalling, you get it in plastic bottles and the water does not taste like plastic at all. I also prefer San Pellegrino. |
I also like the "FIJI" water !!
|
Fiji when I can. Arrowhead most of the time and sparkletts or whatever elkese they have gateside at the airport.
|
Volvic is my daily drink, usually between 1 and 3 liters a day. I don't like Evian at all.
When in the US I drink Poland Spring. I rarely drink sparkling water, but if available I go for Perrier, many restaurants in Germany offer San Pellegrino which I also enjoy. |
I like Evian the best and Fiji a close second.
What I hate are Aquafina and Dassani - and since Coke and Pepsi seem to have all of the airline terminals locked into contracts, it's very hard to find real spring water when traveling |
Poland Springs at home... if Sam's Club sells it, it has to be good.
On the road... whatever local bottled water that's available... in Thailand, I like Aura, in Zambia, Manzi's my favorite... a bit chewy, but eminently drinkable. |
Water is brackish-tasting from the faucet so time to start buying bottled water for the summer. I was going to start a new thread entitled "Water" but found this one, so am bumping it rather than starting a new thread. I hope that's all right, as otherwise would have a dup thread.
I don't have any real preferences as to type or brand of bottled water. Store brand is fine with me, whether spring water or whatever. No carbonated, however, and thanks. I do miss the mineral water (still, not carbonated) I had on train trips in Germany. I didn't notice the brands and just remember that we bought them from the vendors who went through the trains. The first time or two, I was thirsty and didn't find them satisfying in that regard. However, I developed a taste--and it is an acquired taste--for the strong and almost abrasive mineral taste in a few bottles of it. I wish I could buy it here in the States, though I don't want it badly enough to mail-order it if it isn't in the stores. I have bought "mineral water" in the stores that hasn't had the same complex, very strong, even bitter taste. What I remember satisfied as much as does a meal. It surely was nutritious, though in some unknown way, because it satisfied as much as several servings of uncooked vegetables would do. I recall watching a German man once drinking a bottle of it--I was thinking at the time, yecch--as if it were a gourmet treat. Now, after having developed a taste for it myself, I understand. When I was thirsty only and not looking for the strong taste--i.e., most of the time--I would buy Evian in a take-out shop, which was a lot better for simple thirst. But being thirsty and craving the mineral taste are two entirely different objectives, met by different bottled waters. The strong mineral waters I remember are probably not available--at least I haven't gotten anything like the same quality when I have tried various store brands-- in the U.S. But how I wish--. Anyhow, summer, so timely for this thread revival. |
The answers are still Evian and Fiji.
|
Vichy Celestins when available, Vittel, San Pellegrino, Apollinaris, an Austrian one whose name I will post as soon as I remember it. Some wonderful water from famous springs in Georgia - Batumi? Borjomi? would like to try more Georgia water but sadly have not visited there yet.
In UK, my favorite used to be Malvern Water (no longer available as such although I think might still be used by Schweppes as base for some of their other drinks) - completely tasteless so a perfect mixer especially with whisky |

I like Nateczowianka, labelled a carbonated mineral water, from Poland. Comes in regular and low-sodium varieties. A 6-pack of 1.5-liter bottles usually costs me $4.99.

Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani. Give it a try...
But really-Hawaiian deep seawater- it is extracted from 900ft under the ocean floor. |

Now, SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA(hhhhhhh) is the best water. |
I usually just buy the generic brand, especially at convenience stores when I'm on a roadtrip. Quantity is more important than brand name.
I will admit that I volunteered at an athletic event that gave out bottles of Fiji to all the participants and that is pretty good stuff! |
Poland Spring, but only because that's what I grew up with and it's "only in the Northeast-ness" makes it awesome.
|
I prefer carbonated water so it's between Perrier or San Pellegrino.
