We will be in Nice for New Years. Any recommendations for good restaurants that will be open during this time of year? Also, we'd preferably like to spend less than 200E per person.

Thanks!

Do you want it to be directly in Nice or are you willing to travel to e.g. Monaco?

Well, Nice for New Year's eve dinner. We'll probably go to Monacco as well at some point in the trip.

For grand fine dining, the Hotel Negresco's Chantecler, would be a good choice. Whether they are open on NYE I am afraid I do not know.

Other excellent choices, not necessarily for NYE, are:

La Bastide St. Antoine, Grasse
Le Moulin de Mougins, Mougins
Le Louis XV, Hotel de Paris, Monaco
Restaurant Joel Robuchon, Hotel Metropole, Monaco
Chateau de la Chevre d'Or, Eze

I wouldn't want to drive from any of the above (especially Eze!) after a NY evening of dining & drinking... Less than 10 mins away on a safer road is Cap Ferrat - I love the restaurant at the Voile d'Or hotel, but many prefer the Grand Hotel du Cap - I'm sure they'll both being doing something.

Hire a car with chauffeur..... That's what we did when we went from Geneva to Phillipe Rochat (former Girardet's) in Crissier (Lausanne)....

I would imagine that these would be already be sold out for NYE - can't fathom trying to get a seat at Le Louis XV on NYE 3 weeks out (*maybe* Le Grill)!

True enough, but you never know what a good concierge can pull off....

Maybe then Bar et Bouef or Spoon in Monaco may be alternatives for Monaco....

How about: (all recommended by Concierge I know in the area)

Les Epicuriens, 6 place Wilson, Nice (well executied Nicois cuisine with a dash of sophistication)
Le Comptoir, 20 rue St. Francois de Paule, Nice (Nicois cuisine, Art Deco room)
La Petite Masion, 11 rue St. Francois de Paule, Nice (authentic Nicois cuisine)

I highly recommend Le Padouk Restaurant located in the Palais de la Mediterranee Hotel in Nice on the Boulevard des Anglais. The food is superb, plus, you won't be faced with a long drive.
