I loved almost everything on their menu, especially the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, "specialized." Predictable, tasty (if not unhealthy) deli fare. Not as authentic or delicious as a single-location NY deli (like Katz's), but for South Florida, you can't go wrong here. |

MOSburger to me isn't about an American style burger but rather a Japanese interpretation of a burger. Puka Dog and Japa Dog are similar concepts but I don't think that they do as good a job as MOSburger with the interpretation.
Then again, I am not the best judge of altered fast food as I was a long time fan and still mourn the loss of the original Wienerwald chain. On the subject of fast food, my mother votes for Nordsee, a German fish chain. |
Fast Food - Cookout in NC/SC, Pei Wei, Chipotle, Subway
Steak - Chima, Fleming's, Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris Local Chains - Pj Whelihan's, Adelphia Group (Adelphia's, Kaminski's, Phily Diner) |

Relatively new UK chain Côte does a very decent version of brasserie staples. Have visited the Cambridge one a few times now, and been very impressed by both the food and ambience. Good value, too, and frequently on the 'online voucher' circuit.

German fish chain? That's interesting. Gotta try that. In Germany only? Or "German style fish" (whatever the heck that is) out of country?

There is a takeaway counter with fish sandwiches, fried shrimp and fries, etc as well as now basic sushi. But there is also a restaurant with fish dishes, and a deli type counter with items to take home such as a variety of shrimp and herring salads. They also have kids meals with kids items, and seasonal sushi such as Hallowe'en themed sushi, believe it or not! |

What Travelsig said - they are in Austria as well (albeit it more expensive than in Germany) and a few other countries. Coverage in Germany varies; some cities have one everywhere it seems, others have very few or no locations. There are locations in DUS and MUC as well, and at some train stations.

Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes when I am traveling. They have a huge salad bar that is very fresh and different types of fresh soup, pasta, breads and dessert. But mainly it's the salad and soup I'm after.
After weeks of on-the-road dinners with clients and then lunches at Pizzeria Uno, Appleby's and Wendy's with co-workers, I end up having a Pepcid daily for desert. I will go out of my way for Sweet Tomatoes just to give my poor stomach a break. In some places I look for a Nordstrom and see if they have a Nordstrom Cafe. It's like an upscale (healthy) cafeteria with table service and is only a few dollars above the Food Court at a mall. Whole Foods is always a good bet for salads, paninis, and other prepared foods to go. While I love Five Guys and In and Out as much as the next person, it's usually day-4 in convention-land hell that I actively look for certain restaurants. |
Autogrill in Italy is another good option if you are on the road.
