Consolidated "Pie - Best/Worst, Experiences, Recipes, Questions" thread

The Steak, Bacon, and Cheese Pie from Yatala Pie Shop in Qld, Australia wins my best pie award, with a very close second being the Broccoli & Cheese pie from Humble Pie Shop being the second.

I've had pies in many nations, but nothing beats an Australian Pie for me. What's your favourite Pie, and where do you get it ?

the fruit pies in most of the diners along HWY 61 north of Duluth MN.

After camping for a number of days in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area http://www.bwcaw.org having a meal cooked for you and a tasty flakey buttery crust fruit filled (rasberry/blackberry,blueberry etc etc) pie is a near orgasmic experience.

One of the best pies in this world used to come from a place called Geigers which was in Springfield, NJ just off Route 22. Their apple pie, which of course was best in the fall, was loaded with thinly sliced apples, light crust and cinnamon. Wow.....

The apple pie at High Hill Ranch in Camino, CA about 50 miles east of Sacramento. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it's heaven!

Biancke's restaurant in Cynthiana , Kentucky. Old, family owned restaurant not far about halfway from Cincinnati to Louisville --not on an interstate. Their pies are made by an 80 year old woman who makes cream pies the way she used to when she was a girl. Perfect. By the way, everything else is homeade too.

Key Lime Pie from any of the Virgin Islands as long as it is yellow and not colored green! My moms Key Lime pie recipe is also the best.

Ditto that! ^ And, you don't have to go actually go to Ted's to pick up this pie. Columnia Inn and Times Supermarkets sell them.
