There must be something wrong with me because I didn't particularly like their selections. Reminded me too much of "Old Country Buffet" with less choices. Pasta was bland and the pizza was mushy. Salad bar was ok but not worth $10 IMHO.

I love Soupplantation - there's no Michelin star, but good, fresh food, constantly replenished, a lot of variety (but of course not the meat/potatoes kind), wonderful fresh baked muffins, super clean restaurant, and a wonderful meal for the price.

Very hard to find much PROTEIN at the Souplantation! Little pieces in the chicken salad. Large pieces in the noodle soup. The noodles are LARGE!

Prefer the Home Buffet any day over all the starchy stuff at the Souplant!

beans have tons of protein - available in salad bar and many soup offerings have it. if you're meaning meat-based protein i'd agree. but for my diet sweet tomato's rocks. i'm just sorry there isn't one in my locale, just my former locale PDX. i only have Fresh Choice, which pales in comparison...and isn't even nearly as fresh as ST.

I think they are putting some serious MSG or something in their stuff now. Very not cool. Noticed this the last 3 times i went.

Sweet tomatoes

I like them, at least the Orlando locations. Forget pasta, light years away from being tasty, pizza so so. But the soups are good and the veggies are ok too

Some of the soups are quite good (the Mexican 'Albondigas' (Meatball) soup is tasty). With that exception, I otherwise tend to avoid any of the soups with potatoes, as those seem to be consistently watery and less-flavorful and sometimes undercooked).

One negative recent development: the coupons in the Sunday newspapers have changed from a dollar-plus off an individual meal, to two-for-one offers, which are useless for a single diner like myself :td:

I still like them, but there aren't many in northern California. I go to one in Sunnyvale at the corner of Lawrence & Kifer. I love the dark brown home style bread, and the salad bar selections are good. I used to hate their competition (Fresh Choice) which seems to be everywhere. Some time ago FC switched to more diverse and better ingredients on their salad bar. The food is much better, so I don't go to Sweet Tomatoes as much as I used to.

The closest to us is either Jacksonville or Orlando, but I enjoy them, as do my parents :)
