Well, I've gained 10 lbs since moving to Maine and am tired of my pants not fitting. I'm going to finally take my mom's advice and cut out white things (sugar, flour, rice, potatoes) and also stop drinking for a while (but I like my beer and wine and cocktails :().
I have been having a measured bowl of cereal for breakfast for as long as I can remember. What are some good low-glycemic breakfasts I can do? I don't much care for oatmeal. I like eggs but don't want eggs for breakfast every day. I used to make smoothies with plain Greek yogurt, some frozen berries, milk, and Splenda. They were good but I'm looking for more ideas. More broadly, what are some other meals you like? I'm going to get sick of salads and b.good's kale and quinoa bowls... Thanks! |
I m a big fan of non sweetened Musili with plain non fat yogurt that I sweeten with either a little bit of cut up ripe fruit or with a small amount of real maple syrup.
I also use Agave syrup. Not a fan of artificial sweeteners (I rarely drink diet soda) and these syrups are used in very small amounts. http://www.popsugar.com/fitness/Glyc...s-Fall-3031565 |
I do an egg scrambled with broccoli or spinach and cheese. I also cook steel cut oatmeal and store it in the fridge and then microwave and eat with berries and unsweetened Greek yoghurt. I have also gotten in the habit of eating non breakfast foods for breakfast: tuna salad, chili, whatever left overs I can find. I think Americans, and British (and their colonial descendants) are the only ones who have special food for breakfast.
