Krispy Kreme donuts are amazing when they're fresh.

Or they were before the recipe changed to remove transfats. We cut back consumption upon finding out about the transfats, then gave them another shot when the new recipe came out, but it's not the same at all.

I agree -- you have to eat them fresh and hot from the fryer because they don't last.

I have to confess to liking Krispy Kremes and since my Tesco is just a few minutes away it makes it easy to get a fix.

At our Krispy Kreme branch, they come in big delivery trucks. I don't smell any frying on site.

You have to find a larger location where they make them onsite -- most have a neon sign that lights up when the donuts are coming out fresh. If you like KK, you owe it to yourself to try them fresh at least once! :)

I like both wraps and ciabatta.

I am tired of finding new and inventive ways to pretend bacon goes with everything.

I am perhaps the only person in the world who really, really likes Krispy Kremes -- so long as they've cooled to room temp and are not hot.

Let me add kale to the list of fad foods I can live without.

Kale? A "fad" food? Been eating it since I moved south of the Mason Dixon line in the 1970s. I guess no one told the southerners.

I'm tired of IPAs and all this craft brew nonsense - who cares how hoppy your beer is? Chances are the answer is that it's way too hoppy and bitter to be worth drinking.

Well then you have a krappy Krispy Kreme.

I was thinking the same thing. I have been eating kale my entire life. It was a filler for collard greens most of the time. I hate when people who are just on the band wagon want to tell me all the great ways to eat kale. Ugh, you just Columbused Kale. I already knew it was here.

Food Trends On Their Way Out

Kale + spinach + white beans over linguini makes it a bit more palatable.

Happy that I never once in DC hopped aboard the contagious cupcake bandwagon. Used to laugh at the lines wrapping around corners in Georgetown and Arlington.

Gourmet pretzels in upscale restaurants are a bit silly to me. Bar food? Sure. But not paying $12 for a pretzel.

Now seeing a few poorly run FroYo places dying off. Looks to me like Menchies is rising above its ubiquitous imitators.

Charging for chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants? Now that's offensive!

My main objection to cupcakes is that when you slice them horizontally and add the hamburger patties and the pickle its hard not to get the icing on your nose, so I for one will look forward to their demise.

Have you tried glazed doughnuts, instead?

Not contemporary enough. Try sandwiching a burger in wonuts.
