Looks like an interesting product. Has anyone tried it? Seems pricey though.

I saw that at Wine House in LA recently. gave me reason to pause in light of reports of wine counterfeits. Goes to reason if you can remove the wine someone will figure out to reverse that process.

You can also just get a can of argon/nitrogen for $10 or so. Spray a little bit into the open bottle and it will settle on top of the wine, preventing oxygen from oxidizing the wine.

I buy a 5 litre cask so even you'd have a job finishing that at one sitting.

I bottle it plug them and re-open as and when needed. It seems to keep fine over our period of consumption. Each bottle last 3-4 days and is kept in the fridge.

Do you know .... I don't think I would have trouble with that firkin normally ....

Going through a very lean week at the moment and trying to lose a few pounds in prep for hot Singapore. It's difficult enough walking there in that heat .. but when your packing a bit of extra baggage ...

Shall I start a daily cashewcam post in the "eating today" thread to see whether people can spot the cashew in the nut bowl in IC lounge Happy Hour? I can never see them.

Interesting- wonder how good the 'seal' is on the cork.

Agree that once a bottle is open... perhaps this would work on the larger double magnums
