Impossible. I never met a cookie I didn't like. Some of my favorites:

The macarons from Gérard Mulot in Paris. My mother's date filled oatmeal cookies. Chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the oven. Walker Shortbreads. Macadamia nut shortbreads from Honolulu Cookie Company. I don't know if they still make them (I used to buy them at Jewel in Chicago and I don't shop there anymore): President's Choice Chocolate chip cookies. The lemon ricotta cookies at Nordstrom Cafe. My own chocolate peanut butter swirl cookies. Raspberry nut delights (layers of shortbread, raspberry jam, coconut and pecans). Food for the Gods (an incredibly buttery date bar found in an old Filipino cook book).

Thanks for posting this. I've never had a black and white cookie in New York that tasted like it was baked within the month previous to purchase.

Orwasher's B&W is so moist that a glass of milk is an option, not a necessity. @:-)

I'd nominate the Levain Chocolate Chip Walnut. Although their Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip is pretty solid too.

Do not eat them often in the US, but stroopwafels (waffer cookies) are my favorite.

I love cookies. All cookies. Anytime. Especially Christmas cookies - my mom made amazing thin crispy sugar cookies that we could decorate...and amazing date balls that were no-bake and involved melted dates (yes, they melt) and rice crispies.) And spritz and homemade shortcake. Oops, I think my pancreas just burst. :eek:

All that having been said, I have to go with chocolate chip, made from scratch from the recipe on the back of the bag, no nuts, thin and soft but baked long enough that the bottom is brown and a little crispy. Nothing fancy, no white chocolate, no Swiss chocolate made by elves under a full moon, all that's fine for other purposes. But the real deal needs to be Nestle Chocolate Chips. No other brand will substitute.

Have you had Mariano's (it's a Chicago thing) choc. chip with M&M's?!

I suspect that my favorite cookie would be Kate Upton, but I haven't had the chance to taste her.

White chocolate macadamia Subway cookies that are still nice and soft...

Otherwise those free cookies you get at a Doubletree, even just for novelties sake ;)
