Resurrecting this old thread. In the market for a Delonghi super automatic coffee/espresso machine. Tried a Magnifica S at a friend’s and loved it. Seeing a lot of Magnifica Start machines online. I see two differences: the S has a coffee strength dial and the Start has Americano button. They each do the other in different ways. Anyone have either of these machines? I’m inclined to get the S for $100 more only bc I had a cup from one. But looks like the Start is a newer model and possibly an upgrade. Really hard to get a clear answer after googling.
I couldn't be happier. I do espresso and americano and my wife is doing lattes or capuchinos. You have two ways to control your coffee strength. In the built in grinder and also in the presets. Easy to use, and cheap to maintain. |

We bought two years ago on Xmass sale for $750 Magnifica Evo Espresso Machine with Automatic Milk Frother. Using it every day for 4-6 coffees.

Bought Jura e8 from Germany (around $1k USD) & step up voltage converter from amazon ($150), it's still much cheaper than buying US Jura e8 here. LOL.

Thank you! I ordered the Magnifica Start with automatic milk frother. Was on the fence about the latter bc personally don’t drink much with milk in it. Opened (early) today so the adult kids and my dad could enjoy while here for a few days. Huge hit! Everyone else loved the cappuccinos. I loved the espresso. Truly is like getting a barista drink. Still figuring out settings but so far very happy.

that’s so great about the Magnifica machine! Glad it was a big success. I wondered if you might enjoy a cap or latte using almond or soy or oat milk instead of dairy milk unless you’re just a black coffee drinker :-)
gaobest I generally just like black, but maybe once a month will have a cappuccino. Could be fun to experiment with different milks. I do like oat milk. Thanks for the tip! |
With coffee I switched from dairy to non-dairy milk (now almond due to 30 calories per cup stat) a few years ago, after decades of using cream which has a TINY bit of cholesterol compared to almond milk / soy / oat. I know it’s only TINY yet every edge counts :-)
I still use milk for cereal and stuff - this creamer is only with coffee. |
I've been hearing alot about the Ninja Luxe Cafe (espresso machine + grinder + milk frother), anyone here own one of these?
