The usual suspects--Veuve, Moet, Tattingers, Perrier-jouet etc. How many? Idk...maybe and end cap with about 10 different labels. Kirkland of course!

So imagine my surprise when I found not one but two Proseccos I liked. Kirkland and Zonin.

/on topic

I still prefer Veuve Clicquot and think Dom is overrated. I find this thread very educational.

Oh yeah..Costco has Dom too.
I bought the Kirkland champagne because I heard good things about it, but I wasn't too impressed.

Opened a Dom P2 2000 tonight. Wasn't terribly impressed, and found it just a tad above average. The P2 1998 I had last year was stellar, however!

Celebrating tonight with Laurent-Perrier Rose!

Will celebrate tomorrow with Veuve Clicquot.

Interesting, I much prefer the 2000 P2 to the 98! To me the 2000 is richer and bolder, which is my preference.

I saw a Dom 2-pack with glasses, Cristal, and Kirkland as the only true Champagne options at a Costco in MN last weekend.

Most Costcos in the Bay Area has some interesting options. I recently got a gift set champagne Lombard, 4 bottles, grapes exclusively from le Mesnil sur Oger, another from Cramant, another Chouilly, and another from Verzenay. Seems like single vineyard varietal that some Napa wineries are doing.
They also carry the regular Lombard, which is nothing special.

Had these two delicious bottles a few weeks ago.

Pronunciation of Nicholas Feuillatte (Champagne)

Having a wee bit of a debate with the passengers on pronunciation.... I say it's "foy-laht"

Am I wrong?

They are saying "fiat" or "fee-yah-tay"

Help us French speakers!

mahasamatman Aug 28, 2018 9:32 pm

Definitely no "L" in the pronunciation. More like foy-yacht.
