Grape Salad
Mix 8 oz fat-free cream cheese, 8 oz fat-free sour cream, splenda to taste (I use a few tablespoons), one tsp vanilla, and 5-6 lbs grapes. Super yum! |
I do snack on nuts and can limit myself to 1/4 cup by measuring and putting the package back in the cabinet before I start enjoying. Primarily almonds, pecans and walnuts, but occasionally peanuts or pistachios.
I like turkey pepperoni & beef jerky (unhealthy amounts of sodium, however). I will eat fruit any time of day or night. Grapes are my favorite because they most remind me of the candy I used to snack on. Also, bananas, apples, cantaloupe, clementines, pears, strawberries and California navel oranges. Small cans of light soup and 3 oz cans of tuna. Salad. Cooked snow peas or sugar snap peas. Jars of beets. Olives in moderation. |
Homemade yogurt with fresh fruit and small batch honey as a sweetener.
I've been hooked on carrot sticks for the past couple of months, sometimes dipped in hummus, mostly on their own. I explain to my daughter that they are like natures version of cheetos. Interestingly, in college I had a friend who solely ate carrot sticks and tomato wedges with ranch. After a month or so, he started turning orange! |
Pineapple w/Chili

Pint of blueberries....perfect!

Air popped popcorn with balsamic vinegar and garlic salt. I saw it on a cooking show. Now I crave the stuff.

I just made tzatziki with plain Greek yogurt, garlic, cucumber and lime juice to taste. I then dipped a ton of carrots into it. Garlicky and healthy. Yum.

Do you have that recipe, that sounds like something I would like to try. Do you dice the cucumbers fine? I've been researching the "eat clean" method where you cut out processed foods and don't eat anything you can't pronounce. So far down 26 pounds and loving it. I also have to say I love Almond Butter. Giving up peanut butter was not easy, but after reading about it, I decided it was time to cut down on the legumes and go for real nuts instead (didn't know peanuts weren't nuts). |
I had Vanilla yogurt and strawberries in my lunch today. I spread the yogurt on the strawberries and it was just excellent. I'm left wishing I'd packed more!
